Whenever possible, use a long leash when walking your dog. A longer leash gives the dog more freedom of movement, which allows it to sniff and explore the environment more naturally and without constant leash pressure.
In long leash, you can also practice recalls while on the walk. A longer leash requires a bit of handling practice by the person, but you quickly get used to rolling or releasing the leash according to the dog’s movement.

Treatment procedures can be unpleasant or exciting for many dogs 😥
You can make situations easier by adding the possibility to influence for the dog. When the dog learns that it has the opportunity to influence, and also to leave the situation, the tension dissipates 🤗
So reward both successful repetitions and repetitions where the dog by leaving tells you that it was too difficult - both options should be of equal value for the dog.
Take a lot of breaks when training, and proceed at your own dog’s pace. Since the goal is a dog that gladly participates in the situation, repetitions that are too difficult are always slowing down the progress.
✅ Give cooperative care a go and you might be surprised how enthusiastic a participant you will soon have!
During the socialization period, at the age of 3-12 weeks, the puppy reacts rather unreservedly and with curiosity to the new things presented to it and begins to consider them as a part of normal life. This creates a foundation for older age as well: the dog has learned to generalize many things and basically has a positive attitude to new situations 😍
Socialization does not mean that the puppy is dragged everywhere and constantly exposed to new stimuli 💥 A puppy needs a lot of sleep both to rest and to process what it has learned 😴
Socialization is always done on the puppy’s terms, supporting it, never forcing it. The puppy gets to define the distance from which it gets to know new things, and a human is next to it as a support ✅

Tip of the day 💡
Everything that is not a dog’s natural behavior has to be taught to it by us humans 🦮🚶🏻♀️
By positively reinforcing sitting in front of the crosswalk, the dog quickly begins to independently offer to sit in front of the crosswalk before crossing ✅
Safe crossings!

There are surprisingly many variations of the “tail wag”, and they all have a different meaning 🐕🐩🦮🐕🦺
Did you recognize what the dogs were communicating in the videos 👀
Puppies often get to know different things by using their mouths. In addition, natural prey behavior can inspire the puppy to attack moving things, such as feet 😬🦶
Often, a puppy’s biting and barking is also caused by either hunger, pee or poo need, or tiredness. The puppy just doesn’t yet know how to communicate these needs in other ways 🤷🏻♀️
✅ The first thing you should check is that the puppy has enough permitted objects where he can release his chewing and tearing needs. Different chews can keep the puppy satisfied for long periods of time. Try a wide variety of different bites so that you can find the right options for your puppy! 🥰
The need to tear can be satisfied by giving the dog empty toilet and paper towel 🧻 rolls or cardboard boxes in which treats are hidden. (Make sure the puppy doesn’t eat the cardboard. If necessary, you can also use, for example, lettuce leaves 🥬 for the purpose of tearing and hiding treats.)

When going out for a walk with a puppy, the most important thing is to go at the puppy's pace 🤗 Remember that going out is probably the highlight of the day for your puppy: the world is full of new smells, sounds, new things to look at and different surfaces under its paws 🐾🍀🦨🌳 From the very beginning, make sure that the leash is only there for safety, not to pull your puppy forward or to make it stop. ✅ There are other ways to communicate your wishes to the puppy, like calling its name or luring it with a treat 🦮#yourpuppyplan #speakdog #puppyyear #puppyschool #puppy #puppytraining #dogschool #dogtraining #speakdogpro #positivedogtraining
