Edward stole an empty box from eye drops, so we practiced "Drop" by inviting him into my space, feeding a treat, not reaching for his mouth or face. He got the box to shred as a reward. Worried about resource guarding? Don't reach into your dog's space, food bowl, crate or resting area, this creates conflict. Good human manners = always invite your dog into your space, do not invade theirs. It's rude.
