It's National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day. LSU Vet Med excels at responding to natural disasters and training others on disaster preparedness and rescue. When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita ravaged the Louisiana coastline and surrounding areas, the LSU Vet Med and the Louisiana State Animal Response Team (LSART) were well-positioned to help and are now a go-to source nationally for animal response. Preparation saves lives, including those of our beloved animal companions, who rely on us. Start crafting your own plan, ensuring every member of your family, animals included, stays safe in times of crisis. Read more: https://www.lsu.edu/vetmed/news/2024/disaster_response_training.php
