I find myself not coming here as often as I used to. Not long ago I made a group for this Rabbitry. If you want to keep up with updates more than what I share here please hop over and join. We will be putting new bunnies added to our barn and litters due and born. All the show winnings and other info will be there as well.

Right on schedule Paris had her babies. She delivered a lilac, a lynx, a broken lilac and a broken lilac tort. They are doing great now at 5 days old.

This week we added a new lady to the New Zealand herd. We are planning to breed her October 1st.

September 15 we are expecting this seasons first mini rex litter from a chocolate dad and broken lynx mom. Paris seems like she has gotten a thicker waist but we will know for sure in less than 10 days. There is a high chance of amber in this litter but Hershey does carry dilute and non-extension so we will see what comes up. I'm not expecting any self or REW but I love surprises lol.

We are planning to breed our two Holland does and our New Zealand doe within the month if we get a decent cool down in temps.

**Saw little thumps in Paris belly this morning. 8 days to go till delivery.

So the last two years at the end of a breeding season I do a total sheet for litters, kits, with deaths, sold, butchered, donated etc. Season 2 closed with 21 documented litters (105 kits) with only 13 deaths. All of those except one 3 week old loss were DOA and out of our hands. I'm pretty happy with those numbers. None were butchered. I don't know how many were donated or given away due to my computer crash but I had the paper records for the litters at least. We downsized drastically this year so I know I will be considerably less this season but it feels good to see how much we have grown in the 2 years we have been doing the bunny hobby. Thanks to all who gave our bunnies a good life.

I'm hoping this year brings some very needed positive changes. We tried our hands in showing Holland Lops. They are a beautiful breed with phenomenal personality but when it comes to showing I really think I'm going to stick to mini rex. We are sticking to chocolate based colors in self and agouti. Possibly otter again but that remains to be decided on space. We have a litter due in September but none will be for sell for some time. We are in the works of adding a show quality buck and doe to start us in the right direction again. Fingers crossed this litter helps there to. Thank you everyone who has given one of our babies a home and supporting our growth to this point. Happy Wednesday.

Our first breeding of the 2023 season was successful. 3 good fall offs with this pair. Now we wait and hope that the cool weather was enough to make Hershey produce. Blasted NC heat. Fingers crossed for September babies.

Janis and Daz our Blue New Zealands gave us 6 healthy babies yesterday. I'll post pictures in a few days but they look to be mostly brokens.

Raven had 7 healthy Holland lop babies this morning. She is resting now. She is gonna be a busy momma. Photos in a few days when colors come in but it looks like mostly brokens.

We recently noticed the left boy is a low Rufus tan mini rex, some might say a wide band otter as well. Both parents great grandparents were tan mini rex. If anyone is working on a tan project he may be beneficial. He has a lot of Rufus coverage but it's not the rich red on the belly, but that can be achieved through more generations. His grandma is missing color on his pedigree but he is full pedigree otherwise. I downsized to only chocolate in my barn. Not opposed to a pet home but figured a breeder could benefit. Some of the lines carried by this buck is TRP's, Moonshadows (tan breeder on both sets of ggparents), CCV, Olympian Rabbitry, and Cameo Moon's to name a few. Spring Lake NC. Can work with transport.

Our chocolate otters are 2 weeks and starting to peek out of the box some. They chase mom sometimes too. I may try to guess sexes in a week or 2.

Willow (chocolate otter) and Hudson (lilac otter) welcomed a box of chocolate otters a week before Valentine's day. This also happens to be the 30th litter born in Green Briars barn. We thought we had 5 yesterday but a 6th head popped up in the video. This litter will not be for sale for some time till I know who is show quality and staying.
