Our meeting last Friday (4/8) was a blast. We germinated 100 seeds and our Kahoot winner won a Peperomia plant to take home! Within 4 days, our adorable lettuce seeds have grown so much, see the picture below.

BTW...we have biweekly meetings in Project IF. Stay with us for updates!

Hello Facebook! Project IF is back and is ready to share what we've been up to. Within this past year, we've registered as a student club and welcomed 5 new officers, 3 advisors, and 42+ new members. Our subteams have been working endlessly with research within the farm, maintaining operations, and reaching new members! For the spring quarter, we've got farm tours, events, and more. Make sure you're involved with our website, Instagram, and this page to keep in touch!

In the meantime, we've got a timelapse video from one of our research and engineering members to gain a better insight into how our buttercrunch lettuce grows. We hope you enjoy!

This peat moss plug is almost ready to 'plant' in one of our towers! Once planted it will take just over a month to grow into a full head of lettuce 🥬

04/11/2019

We love our little indoor farm at Project IF for how sustainable it is!
-
Our towers from use up to 95% less water than traditional crops 💧
-
We grow in Seattle, which cuts down on transportation distance 🚚
-
Our crops grow 50% faster and can be grown year-round 🌱
-
On top of all of this, we get to work with UW students and community members that are all passionate about sustainable agriculture! 🥗
