Update on Gandalf.:

It's been a tough 2 days and nights, up with him in pain and unable to poo or pass p*e in his pad.

Due to him having medical health problems Spina bifida and having complexed needs with his bladder and bowel, his intestines don't contract normally to push out the waste food so at time, he can get a blockage this then prevents some p*e passing down his w***y to wet his pad.
He's had dry pads for 2 days, so reliant on his peg site and myself and Phil to withdraw the urine every 2 hrs.
I've been up most of the 2 nights with him. Nursing him. Checking his urine output and giving syringes of fluids to keep him hydrated. Cleaning him when he needed it and giving cuddles when he was crying.

His diet is Chappie and pureed pumpkin and added boiled veg. A bit of fruit too.
He refused to eat and drink up to yesterday teatime. I syringed water into his mouth every 1/2 hour and some oralade. He had Rheumocam.

Yesterday afternoon, he started to calm down. Paced less and rested. He passed 2 poos. He drank some water/milk mixture and ate his tea. He kept on pooing throughout the evening, night and during the night.
He slept all through. Exhausted.

He's drinking well and eating well now.
He's been outside today, enjoyed the weather. He's played. Eaten well and been "up to no good" 🤣 with the pugs. He's recovered well.

Update on Gandalf.

An unsettled night with him. I've sat up with him since 1.30. He vomited. A huge amount. Last night's tea. He's constipated. ??? He had taken off his belly band.

I took out 70mls p*e.

He's not poorly but can't poo.

We've walked and walked since 5. He wouldn't lay. Ive tried milk. He hasn't eaten or drank.

I've given rheumocam 40 mins ago. He's passed 2 poos. Yey😄

He's broken wind a few times since.
His poo is good when it comes out but there's no intestine contractions to get it out due to his medical condition.

He's finally asleep. 💤😴

I have emptied his bladder only 38mls but at 5am it was 68mls. Dark. No smell. Hes clean all down there. I can't smell infection.

He's retaining his p*e. Day 3 now. No wet pads. A little trickle when he goes outside.

This was at 8.30 last night walking him up the street to try and help him poo.

He saw a sheep though. 😆

Gandalf isn't feeling right today.

It started last night.
He was asleep, then at 7pm, woke with a start. He got off the sofa and ran to the back door. He went outside in and out a few times. ??

It was 9.30 so his bed time. I did his cares, emptied his bladder his p*e was a bit dark but nothing that I was concerned about.

I put him to bed 5 times. Phil twice. He eventually settled.

At 3am he woke us up. His pad was wet. After 40mins he settled.

At 6am, he barked. He had pood his bed. I let the dogs out, he ran to the gate, again in and out a few times.
I emptied his bladder. 120mls yellow p*e. I gave him his morning drink. He ate breakfast but unsettled. I gave him his tramadol at 8am.
He has been very insecure. Wanting cuddles. I sat on the floor with him. Eventually he settled. When he awoke I emptied his bladder, 135mls.

He's just been out for a walk in the big garden. He's a bit confused still. I've just given him his 2nd tramadol. Emptied his bladder. 180mls. Clear p*e. No smell. I checked his temperature it was normal. 38.3.
He ate lunch well. He's now on the sofa asleep.
I can't see anything to be concerned about. His right back leg is more wobbly. I wonder if he's hurt his leg??? His head feels a bit warm. He's asleep now.
