The NZ Independent Cavy Clubs, in conjunction with the Hamilton and Waikato Area Cavy Club, are thrilled to present the NZ Nationwide Cavy Show 2024 in Hamilton! This exciting event is set to take place over the weekend of the 5th of October 2024 and will showcase the very best in cavy breeding and exhibition. Cavy enthusiasts from all over New Zealand will converge on Wellington to display their

beloved guinea pigs in a friendly and competitive environment. Judges from around the country will assess the animals based on a range of criteria, including breed standards, health, temperament, and grooming. The show will feature a range of different breeds and varieties of cavies, including long-haired and short-haired, smooth-coated and rosetted, and many more. Spectators will have the opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures and appreciate the hard work that goes into breeding and showing them. In addition to the cavy displays, the NZ Nationwide Cavy Show 2024 will feature a range of stalls and vendors selling everything from cavy food and accessories to books and educational materials. There will be opportunities for attendees to interact with the animals, chat with breeders and experts, and even take home a new furry friend. Whether you're a seasoned cavy enthusiast or simply curious about these adorable creatures, the NZ Nationwide Cavy Show 2024 is an event not to be missed. A note from our judge for Nationwide.
My name is Emily Vince I am from Hobart Tasmania. I have been breeding and showing cavies since i was 11. I formed Bakerville cavy stud with my family in 1987. We started with 3 pets a self buff, Poppy, a red dutch, Geraldine and a coronet, Daisy. From there my passion took off gaining more guinea pigs Abyssinians and self goldens. I have had most breeds and when i was old enough i started training to become a judge. I have stayed involved even when studying and living at the other end of the state. This year marked my 37th year of being involved in cavies. This is my first overseas trip and I am looking forward to travelling with my 2 sons and sister to New Zealand. I am looking forward to meeting you all and look forward to judging your cavies.
