My vegetable "garden" was a hit or miss this year!
I'll admit I don't have a knack for outdoor plants. I'm fabulous with indoor ones, but outdoor always die on me. This year I created a little 3x3 cinderblock garden since our yard is under construction and I can't make anything permanent quite yet.
Well like always, some plants died and others thrived. My tomato plant went CRAZY! But sadly my zucchini got beat up by the wind early on and never recovered. My pepper is doing good but no flowers so far.
Anyway, whether I got food from it or not it's still lush and green! So here's Minnie standing in the garden for a nice portrait.

Man these days are HOT! We're hitting 100 three days in a row here. But guess who's soaking it all up? Ameoba!
Being a leopard gecko she's accustomed to heat like this. In fact she's been super active lately and spending a lot of time coming out and hanging out in the window sill.
Anyone else with reptiles loving the Summer heat? My skink is too for sure. The mourning geckos not so much...

The glow you get when on vacation
On the flipside now that we're home Olive and Minnie are KNOCKED OUT. Haha They love camping but man does it wear them out. I also did the right photographer thing and took pictures at "golden hour".
I usually take pictures anytime of day but since we were somewhere unique I wanted everything perfect. And what do you know I get this amazing shot of Olive! More to come as I post others this week :)

Kribby ready to take someone down (mainly me)
This is my crawdad! Although he is not a crab I still affectionately call him Kribby. He's my favorite aquatic pet to own because he's not shy and has quite the personality. Hes also pretty fun to feed.
Right now I have Kribby home for the Summer because I just couldn't risk leaving him at school for the Summer. In fact, I think he's enjoying his vacation here because he likes to posture at me whenever I'm near. Someone is a little too comfortable.

Today we discuss alternatives to fireworks!
Again it's not too late to change plans and ditch those fireworks this year and every year! I'd first like to say that you should always go to your cities firework shows if you MUST celebrate with fireworks. City shows are planned, controlled, safer, and usually more impressive than something at home.
But this year I'm sure city celebration plans have changed due to the pandemic and safety. For this reason I worry a lot if people will take their celebrations to their backyards. So if you are going to celebrate try these alternatives instead! These alternatives are legal and MUCH SAFER. And guess what? They're still fun!
