Legally, service dogs are NOT required to wear a vest…but you probably see so many wearing one because it helps reduce public access questions.
❓ Without a vest, more staff will probably ask you if your dog is a service dog, plus the general public may be more likely to stop you.
Many handlers choose to use a vest simply to avoid constant interruptions while going about their day.
Also! Some vests are functional: to help with mobility and distributing the weight across the dog evenly.
What do you think? Do you prefer your service dog to wear a vest in public? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

✈️ Flying with Your Service Dog? Here’s What You Need to Know! 🐶
If your dog doesn’t fit under your seat, airlines must offer alternative solutions—they can’t deny you outright! Options include:
✅ Moving you to a larger seat in the same class
✅ Rebooking you on a later flight with more space
✅ Offering free cargo transport (as a last resort)
If you have a larger dog, prep ahead! Train them to lay comfortably in tight spaces, measure your seat area, and consider purchasing extra space if needed.

By the way: no dog is 100% hypoallergenic.
The Can f 1 allergen is a major protein in dog dander, saliva, and urine. It's one of the most common allergens responsible for triggering allergic reactions in people. This protein can become airborne and easily spread throughout a home, but the reason poodles get the 'hypoallergenic' title is because low-shedding = less dander being spread. That said, it doesn't mean NO dander will spread. Many would be surprised to learn that I actually am allergic to dogs! But with regular vacuuming, not touching my face after hanging with dogs, and HEPA filters, I have been okay with managing my allergies - even with a lab who sheds a lot :) It's always important to hang out with the breed of your choice before committing to a new family member!
Stationing is essential for ALL dogs! It's a universal behavior that can solve various common issues like counter-surfing, jumping on guests, or just needing your dog to do ‘nothing.’ And a special shoutout to Brenda, who not only shapes amazing eyebrows and does lash lifts but also is an excellent puppy mom to Cali, setting her up for training success (or as I like to say, starting your puppy off on the right 'paw'). Side note: If you want amazing eyebrow shaping, lash lifts, or waxing, and you're in the Denver metro area, she is the best - check her out on IG: @_lovebrenda. 💖 #DogTraining #BeautyAndTheBeast
Working on the relaxation protocol with Brenda and her adorable new puppy, Cali 🐾 Learning to relax and just be calm/do nothing is such an essential skill—not just for service dogs, but for every dog. We're focusing on this important life skill to help Cali grow into a well-balanced, confident pup!
👉 Question for you: How does your dog do with just relaxing and being calm? Let me know in the comments!
Ensuring a strong and reliable recall is crucial for the safety and well-being of our four-legged companions.
However, one aspect that is often overlooked is the importance of collar grabs. If your dog tends to duck or run away when you try to reach for their collar, it is vital to teach them to associate collar grabs with positive experiences. 🐾
Does your dog allow you to grab their collar?
