Paisley and Bailey had a fantastic weekend up north at Sarina for the Central QLD Toy Dog Club and Sarina Kennel Club shows
Bailey had a ripper of a time winning -
2 x 1 st place Baby Sweepstakes
2nd place Baby Sweepstakes
6 x Baby of Breed awards
2 x Baby in Group awards
1 x Baby in Show ( Toy Specialty)
A massive line up of about 10 babies at these shows!

Massive thank you to my older daughter and darling granddaughter who looked after them during their show holiday!
Can’t wait to see them again tomorrow.

Bart and Bailey wrestling with each other while Alice was trying to get the toy off the side of the pen.
2 more head to their new homes in a few days. My house will seem very empty. Mr Bailey heads to his show home for a while next week. Will see what the future holds for him.

Wrestle time now that boys are on their own. Miss Charley is with her new family now. Will be fun to watch her as she grows. She’ll be attending some shows as she gets older

Another busy weekend showing with Paddy and Paisley at Bundaberg.
Unfortunately didn’t take any photos. Was crazy windy all weekend. 😳
Insane trying to brush long coats to present the dogs to judges 🙄 In the end I think everyone with a coated breed just gave up!
One judge said it’s all good I looked over and saw them all brushed up nice!
Paddy won 3 x Dog CC / 1 Best of Breed / 1 runner up best of breed
Paisley won 2 x bitch CC / 1 Best of Breed / 2 runner up best of breed.
Some really nice comments from all judges over the weekend. ❤️

Our 2 older girls and Sophia’s puppies are now pedigree registered. Just waiting for papers to arrive back with us. Will post them to new owners as soon as received

At this stage un named boys. As everyone wants girls looks like these boys will be staying with us for the near future anyway.
Will have to think of some cool names for them.
Such a couple of great litters with all puppies being so even, has been a difficult decision but looks like we get to play with these boys for a bit longer 💙💙

IT’S AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT IT COSTS US - THOSE AMOUNTS ARE ACCURATE THOUGH

POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?

BREEDER: $6,000dollars.

POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!

BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?

POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You reputable breeders are so over priced.

BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!

BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!

BREEDER: To start you will need a female (average cost $12,000 and up) and a male (average cost $12,000 and up) or semen (average $5000 and up). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $500+ per dog. Lets not forget progesterone testings, C-cection inseminations, ultrasounds, x-rays, semen collections, semen analysis, potentially semen overnight shipping and so on ($2500+). Raise and provide daily care, feeding & grooming for 2 years. (minimal $300per month) Oh, don’t forget monthly prevention, annual vet visits and any other additional vet visits.

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...

BREEDER: For $10,000 you can raise a litter and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you will pay the cost of whelping & care.

POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.

BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care. ( a million loads of laundry) Another 4 plus weeks to monitor mum and puppies.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Twelve weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.

BREEDER: Plus You will need to be available for puppy families to call you 24/7 with a worry or concern no matter the age. You Must also be ready to take back the puppy/dog at any age if the family has a unforseen emergency.

BREEDER: You will also need the reproductive vet to do progesterone testing($150/ test ) & C-section($2000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups until old enough to be placed ($800+).
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, puppy pads, incubator, oxygen concentrator, nebulizar, heating lamp, whelping box, puppy pen, blankets, toys, bowls, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand/tube feeding supplies in case of emergency....

POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!

BREEDER: For $5000+ you can buy them.

POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.

BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us, there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.

THIS IS THE REALITY
When you choose a reputable person, you aren’t only purchasing the puppy but also: knowledge, support , experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...

**Plus the cost of life time support to the puppy owners…

These numbers are just the tip of the iceberg (best case scenario!!!) as a reputable breeder who takes on this journey full time!
