The Casper Community TNR Program is a nonprofit that works in conjunction with Temporary Home Animal Rescue Inc. toward the goal of stabilizing the community/feral cat population in Casper. This is made possible through grant funding, donations, personal contributions, and the fabulous work done by our animal loving volunteers. Our goal is to connect with like-minded cat lovers, local agencies, ve

terinarians, property/business owners, and colony caretakers within the area to help provide education, assist with Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), socialize/re-home feral kittens (tame cats) as available, assist with building cat shelters/feeding stations, and work at the local level to help change laws to protect community and feral cats. If you have any questions, would like to volunteer or wish to donate please send us a message!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎊 As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to share our statistics since the inception of our Program on September 25, 2020 😻

TNR Spays = 340
TNR Neuters = 236
Cats Rescued (surrendered) = 181
Kittens Rescued = 1041

So many accomplishments have been achieved by the AWESOME little CCTP team to help improve the lives of our community kitties and the folks who care for them. We would like to thank our supporters and partners for their positive encouragement, FB shares/likes, monetary/material donations and offering of your time. Without our donors, TNR friendly veterinarians, “no kill” cat rescues partnering with us and our TEAM of volunteers, none of this would have been possible!

We look forward to continuing our efforts in 2025, working TOGETHER to help humanely stabilize community cat overpopulation in Casper and the surrounding communities.

If you would like to volunteer or make a donation, please reach out to us via FB Messenger or at [email protected]

Whenever visiting Second Chance Sheridan Cat Rescue to bring up cats/kittens or to do S/N surgeries with their amazing veterinarians and staff we always look forward to going so we can spend some time in this magical place! Every time I visit I always look forward to seeing Suzie Q. This sweet girl warms my heart like no other 💜 The work they are doing there to help cats/kittens is phenomenal!

In celebration of SCSCR’s 15th birthday, we are sharing fifteen years’ worth of stories of animal resilience, unwavering humanity, and radical generosity throughout the month of December. Today's story comes from 2016.

In 2016, a young cat endured the unimaginable. Someone spray-painted her purple, shot her in the spine, and left her paralyzed, alone, and abandoned to die. But this cat was unlike any other. When a kind human came by the next day, she pulled herself out from beneath a parked car and demanded to be rescued.

That person saved her and named her Suzie Q. By the time Suzie came to SCSCR, the bullet had already been surgically removed, but much of the purple spray paint remained—an awful reminder of the cruelty she’d faced. At the time, our team had no experience with injuries like Suzie’s, and we weren’t sure what her future would hold.

The first year, we put Suzie in a bubble—her kennel sat at the center of our main room, where she received constant care. Acupuncture, laser therapy, massage, and physical therapy filled her days. Though her condition didn’t improve, her confidence grew. She watched the world around her, ready for her chance to shine.

Finally, a year later, we let her down to scoot around the main room and she showed us what resilience truly means. Using her strong front legs, she zooms around faster than most cats and scales the tallest cat trees with ease. She loves trips outside—yes, even in the snow—and has never let her disability hold her back from living her fullest life.

Today, she is the leader of our office cats and serves as a Feline Ambassador, inspiring humans and animals alike. She reminds us every day that life is not defined by the challenges we face, but by the courage we show in overcoming them. Suzie Q thrives in a world full of love, compassion, and second chances. Her story is a powerful reminder that kindness and determination can rewrite even the darkest beginnings.

Stay with us this December as we continue to celebrate 15 years of unforgettable stories like Suzie Q’s—tales of hope, resilience, and the unshakable spirit of animals who refuse to give up.

Return day is always so gratifying!

Kudos to the CCTP team, our partner veterinarians and the cat colony caretakers for another successful TNR to help these community kitties 😻👏💕

We believe that around 85% of the community cats at this location are now S/N, vaccinated and ear tipped/notched. We will keep pressing on to get the rest!

On this recent TNR of 16 cats, 12 of them were female! Wowzers, is amazing to think about how that ends the suffering of possibly up to around 70+ kittens that would have been born in the spring homeless, possibly sick or starving, living in dangerous situations, etc.

Please help us by donating today! Can contact us via Facebook Messenger or at [email protected] 🙏😻💕

HUGE THANKS to those who have donated so far toward the TNR we plan to begin this weekend 😻 The sick kittens are doing much better now and we only have 1 little baby left to trap at the location.

If you would like to donate to this targeted TNR/kitten rescue, please send an email to: [email protected]

Our team is currently working to TNR a large cat colony of 30-40 cats. During the TNR process, we’ve encountered several sick malnourished kittens needing medical care for upper respiratory infection (URI) and ringworm. In rescuing 2 kittens yesterday we had even found 2 others nearby that had passed away 😿 Another older kitten in the area has a dangling broken tail that will need to be amputated.

It is going to take a great deal of teamwork and resources to help end the suffering at this location.

Dearest followers and cat lovers, would you please reach into your hearts and help by donating money toward this effort for the costs associated to medical care, S/N and vaccinations 🙏 Please email us at: [email protected] to donate!

Thank you 💜

Learn the use the correct outdoor shelter bedding to keep your kitties safe, dry and warm this winter!

NO - to hay, blankets, or absorbent material of any kind! Once it gets wet, it can freeze and possibly cause harm or even death.

YES - to straw! 😻

We live in a society that continually does not spay/neuter cats that are allowed to roam outdoors. These cats will reproduce at an alarming rate. A female cat can have up to 4 litters of kittens a year, kittens that are born “homeless” and become feral since unsocialized. The kittens that are lucky enough to survive will continue this cycle.

TNR is the only humane approach to effectively stabilize the feral cat population. We have seen the results in several areas within our community. TNR works! 😻
