Happy 5th birthday Rylee Roo! She’s not keen on the wet stuff outside😂 Rylee has the most beautiful soul, she truly is such a kind girl. She also has bursts of crazy but hey, who doesn’t. Rylee was also my first girl to have a litter under my own prefix and being that her only litter was to Duke, those babies will forever hold a special place for me. Rylee also raised Steely and Max’s babies that were born 8 days after her own as Steely girl had some underlying health issues that no one could have known about at the time. This situation is also the reason I have only had 1 litter a year since then 😂😂

Miss Marley is pretty much back to normal, well you’d have no idea what she’s been through anyway. After today she’s down to having her meds every second day now and she’s allowed to have her nexgard so that’s one less thing to worry about when she’s outside. She still gets tired easily but being the stubborn girl that she is, she won’t let that stop her from trying to chase the chickens around 🤦🏼♀️😂 She’s starting to get some weight back on her which is good and definitely has her attitude and sass back.
Slowly getting back to her crazy self! Still resting most of the time but has a bit more energy outside now. I didn’t realise how many objects in my house look like a snake until this happened 😂 Literally seeing snakes everywhere. I’m sure it’s going to take a bit of time for all of us to deal with. Miss Marley is improving everyday and that’s the main thing, it’s definitely taken a lot out of her though. Will forever be in awe of this girl and what she fought through.
What a crazy week we’ve had! Sometime Tuesday night Marley was bitten by a red belly black snake. I walked out to a very dead snake and a very sick Marley. After rushing her to the vet and doing tests to see how far the venom had spread, we were told to prepare for the worst. The venom had spread throughout her entire body, her kidneys were bleeding and her blood wouldn’t clot. They assured us they would do everything to save her and if she lasted through Wednesday night then she would have a fighting chance. After fighting incredibly hard to stay and continuing to get better over the next few days, I’m beyond happy to say our girl is home. She still has a few weeks of meds and monitoring but she’s alive and back to her crazy self, albeit a bit more tired which is fair enough. The vet still can’t believe she made it and they all think she’s an absolute trooper. Naturally after being beside myself with worry all week, all she wanted was cuddles with her Dad when we picked her up today 🤦🏼♀️😂 A massive thank you to everyone who has checked up on our brave old girl, she really is one in a million.
