The YCC Held a meeting on Saturday 20th July 2024, The Club would like to thank all members for their attendance and contribution.
Keith Williams stepped down from the Roles of Secretary/Treasurer due to family reasons. The Club would like to thank Keith for his tireless work over many years.
There was a written proposal (seconded) to appoint Keith Williams as Co-opted Chairman until the AGM, this proposal was accepted by Keith.
There was proposal (seconded) taken from the floor to appoint Russell Sykes as Co-opted Secretary until the AGM, Russell agreed to take on the role on a temporary basis until the AGM.
All correspondence please now to be sent to Russell Sykes (contact details can be found in the YCC Yearbook).
Will will be sharing information on our Open show and Winter Show incorporating Old & Rare section in due course.

At the YCC's recent AGM a proposal to introduce an Old & Rare section to the Clubs winter show was forthcoming. This proposal was unanimously carried, and January 11. 2025 will see a Winter Show with a difference. Our Open Show is, and will remain the pinnacle of the Yorkshire Fanciers diary.
The re-introduction of our winter Show in 2022, at our new venue was well received amongst members, however the opportunity at the Winter show was still not maximised to its full potential.
The Winter Show hosting O & R Varieties is a win-win for the Yorkshire Canary Fancy; it grows the winter show event in terms of footfall & exhibits, puts both the Yorkshire & the O & R Varieties in the spotlight at a later show in the season, and hopefully will attract more interest in the Yorkshire & the O & R varieties exhibited.
We predict this venture will also turn the Winter Show into a profit making event for the YCC, rather than running at a slight loss, as it has previously.
We are trying our utmost to attract fanciers to the wonderful Yorkshire Canary Fancy, and we hope this new initiative is a positive for The Club, and the O & R Varieties.

We have some fantastic sponsorship and specials on offer, this will truly be a show for those that support it.

Yorkshire Canary Club will hold meetings back to back on Saturday 20th July at 10:00am at our usual venue;

10:00am a special meeting as requested by officials/members at our AGM to discuss the Clubs rules and proposals to update them.
11:00am Our usual show meeting.

The venue is booked until 1pm.

All members are welcome to attend and contribute to both meetings.

We hope you are enjoying a successful breeding season and if you can't make our July meeting we hope to see as many of you as possible at our 2024 Open Show which takes place;

The YA YB & YC points competition runs throughout the show season at all specialist Yorkshire Canary Club Shows, and those CBS shows awarded full patronage by the YCC.

*Yorkshire Canary Club Exhibitor of the Year Competition season 2023*

All exhibits from FULLY PAID UP YCC MEMBERS will AUTOMATICALLY be entered into the YCC Exhibitor of the Year Competition. No nominations are required.

Points are awarded at both BOTH YCC OPEN & YCC WINTER SHOW as follows;

* 2 points per entry

* 10 Bonus points for every bird placed in the top 7

* Points for class placings 1st to 7th, depending on number of entries in each class. I.E. if 20 entries ; 1st takes 20 points, 2nd 19 points and so on down to 7th place. In a class of 2 entries 1st takes 2 points, 2nd takes 1 point.

ALL BIRDS ENTERED COUNT

* This competition is designed to give everyone the best chance of taking an award, regardless whether they win any of the top individual awards on the day of either show.

* The Competition will reward exhibitors who maximise their chances by entering as many exhibits as possible at both our Open & Winter shows. The most CONSISTENT teams of birds willl of course amass most points, whilst also gaining points for their exhibitor by supporting the show!
