Be on the lookout for a new ECR acct. This one has been compromised and I will not be using it anymore. Facebook has done nothing to help me get rid of this parasite, so I'm starting over. Why anyone would want my acct is beyond me. I'm not a popular content creator. 🤣

I would never ask for your personal information or money, unless we had a contract and foal agreement already in the works. If you see any posts or receive messages under this account after this one, do not interact, but report it.

Thank you for all the support!

I just love getting update pics of Beth and her adopted foal, Jasper. If you don't know, our appaloosa mare Beth lost her foal 3 weeks after he was born. Jasper lost his mama right after he was born. We matched the two, and they instantly bonded. As you can see, Jasper is growing like a w**d! You go mama Beth! 🙌🏼💪🏼

I trust everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! We celebrated by working calves, eating ice cream, and watching fireworks.

Pictured here is Fini being worked with this morning before getting his hooves trimmed. He's a big boy already as a yearling, and it's important to me that he respects people as he grows. If he's going to be a good stud prospect, he must respect people first.

Today was the perfect storm....

We were getting ready to take Shady for her pre-breeding ultrasound in Hays. I'm AI'ing her to Lazarus Purebred GypsyVanner Stallion, and she's supposed to be bred Tuesday. A thunderstorm hit this morning so in all of the muddy chaos, Moose managed to get himself in trouble. After we got him straightened out, we were feeding grain, and I noticed Queen acting strange. She was choked. So I loaded her up as well, and off to the vet we all went.

As we arrived, a tornado warning came across our phones. Sure enough, it was headed straight towards us. We hopped back in the pickup and took off, driving over an hour in a large circle to beat the storms. Arrived back at the vet with our tired cargo (us included), and managed to avoid the worst of it.

The good news: Shady is looking great. Large follicles, great edema, and good health all around. Queen got herself tubed, and we got an entire bucket of nastiness out. We're home and tired, but she and Ace are put up for the night with grain only for now. Through all of this, Moose & Ace were champs. I'm proud of everyone today, our kids included. Huge shout-out to Dr. Harris of Western Prairie Equine Service in Hays!

We did some trims this morning, and this 'ol dude won the prize for best horse. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was posing. Pretty amazing when you don't need to hold a horse when he's getting his hooves trimmed! Big shout-out to both of my farriers for being amazing at what they do.

Rest easy, sweet boy. 💔💔

His mama is in need of an orphan foal. If anyone has that need, we would be happy to fill it. We don't know why Trooper passed, but it was peaceful and in his sleep. No one ever claimed this ranch life was easy, but I'm glad we fought for him, because we got to know him for 3 weeks.

Happy Easter! He has risen, and that alone brings me joy.

But can I be real for a minute? It's BUSY season here. Foaling, feeding bottle calves, building pens, etc. Not to mention my children who need to be loved, disciplined, listened to....and planting season is just around the corner.

It's a lot. And I find myself constantly beating myself up for all of the messes I haven't cleaned up. The projects undone. The times I haven't properly listened or disciplined too harshly.

But I remember that Jesus wants all of our broken and messy. He wants me to run to Him in these times, cling to His strength, and remember that I'm not alone. He provides what I need. The messy is just a reminder that I have a lived-in home, loved children, and the life that I've dreamed of since I was a child.

If this is you, take a breath. Christ loves us so much, He wants all of our messy. He loves you. ❤️

Choring out in the blizzard after building a shed makes me thankful for a cup of hot chocolate and a blazing fire in the wood stove! I'm also thankful for the people (my husband and hired hand) who put in all the extra effort alongside me.

When the blizzard is over, and the day's work is done, God's painting in the sky reminds us of the reasons we decided to live like this in the first place.

We don't get snow days off, but no complaining here. More snow means more moisture for spring grasses and crops. There's no substitute for a good snow pack in the winter to get a good spring start, and our last few winters have been dry. More snow just means we have to prepare as best as we can and trust God for the rest!

We just received the blessing of 2 days of rain, and while everyone is sliding around, I just keep telling them it'll make the pastures and hay even better next year. I don't think they believe me. 😅
