Finished out Professional Pet Sitters week with some of my favorite clients (whoops we're not supposed to have favorites are we 😉)

Being a professional pet sitter is more than just loving animals. It's a dedication to excellence, education, and improvement.

A professional company hires employees (or is solo) and trains them properly with excellence expected from each team member. I'm proud to say we hire some of the best pet care providers and ensure they're supported by us and provided with the best tools.

A professional pet sitting company focuses on the personal touch. We use an amazing software company, , which allows us to clearly communicate with our clients, and they can provide us with the most up-to-date information on their pets and home.

A professional pet sitting company is trustworthy, reliable and provides a worry free, stress free, and guilt free way for pet parents to ensure their pets are taken care of when they can't. Be that because of a vacation, long work days, emergencies, or just busy lives. We're here to support our clients the best way we can.

We also make sure we have all the proper paperwork filed with our local government, we have proper insurance and bonding, a business license and pay those pesky taxes.

As we celebrate 16 years this year, we aren't stopping our strive for excellence and providing our clients with guilt free days knowing their pets are expertly taken care of in their absence.

Harley has always been very curious about things in his environment and also tolerates me doing silly things to him (like putting plastic rings on his ears lol!)

Your pet can help you with your mindfulness goal as well.

Pets live in the moment, and spending time with them can remind you to do the same. Whether you’re tossing a ball for your dog, stroking your cat or just watching your horse munch on grass, these simple acts can ground you in the present, helping you stay mindful and reduce anxiety. But it only works if you don't look at your phone. And did you know that practicing mindfulness can also reduce the anxiety in your pet? Our pets are emotional sponges, and if they sense anxiety in you, they too will start to feel more anxious. This is especially true for horses. Whenever my mind wanders or I'm feeling anxious, Harley either doesn't listen to me or he feeds off of my anxiety, which can be dangerous. And while you many not experience the need to keep your horse from being anxious, we want to keep our household pets from being anxious too so they can live their best life.

If you're looking to eat healthier, you and your pet can benefit from this goal. Just as you check the food labels on the food you eat, be sure to check the labels on the food your pet is eating. If you see too many questionable ingredients (for example many cat dry foods do not contain any actual meat which is crazy considering cats are obligate carnivores, and may dog foods contain lots of wheat, corn and gluten all of which dogs do not need.)
