Pennsylvania: Urge your state representative to pass HB 2139
In pigeon shoots, live birds who have been captured and kept in dark boxes are released into the air to be shot by participants in a contest. Observers estimate that 70% of the birds are wounded but not killed outright. After each round of shooting, wounded birds are collected—often by youth with no training in proper euthanasia methods—and are killed by slamming, snapping or snipping the head off or by breaking the neck. The birds are then tossed into a barrel or pile of dead and dying pigeons and discarded as garbage.

HB 2139 will protect animals and our communities by putting an end to live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania. Speak up today to help outlaw this cruelty.

Sleepy Hollow Acres Rescue for Animals needs your help! We are in the process of making arrangements for Quicksilver the sheep to be transported from Saul PA to Lake Ariel PA so he will not go to slaughter in January.

The total fee to adopt him out of his current situation is $600. The transport fee because we don't have a livestock trailer is $200 making the total to get Quik to the sanctuary $800. We have been able to raise $500 but still need help raising $300. If you can donate even a $1 it would be so greatly appreciated!

This is a special sheep because he has been working with our soon to be daughter in her school's agricultural program. She is so so grateful that we are saving Quiksilver. And it helps reduce the trauma for both her and Quik.

Dill went to his forever home today! He was previously adopted but due to an emergency housing situation was surrendered. Jennifer, Rich, Hudson, and Hawk have welcomed him into their family after another six months in care. We'll miss you, Dill, but are so happy you are going to be the center of attention and have a good life with your new family. 💜
