Could your horse's nervous system use a little extra boogie woogie?
Now that it's no longer getting dark 5 minutes after lunchtime I have some space for new customers.
I'm Vince, and I offer liberty play style exercise, training, and rehabilitation based on modern movement/motivation/pain science (more specifically the intrinzen principles for those familiar)
I use a mix of positive reinforcement (clicker training) and constraints-led approach to design games/activities without threat to the horse's nervous system- which opens the door to authentic movement joy, robust athleticism, and intrinsic motivation (movement is rewarding in itself, high effort/challenge becomes easier).
This is suitable for just about all paddock sound equines young and old to build confidence, improve movement function and fitness, and boost happiness- especially so for
those who have been compromised through injury, illness, trauma, or old age. Due to the force-free nature of this approach, especially elderly and wonky horses can enjoy varied movement and improved range of motion without risk of pushing beyond what the body can safely do.
So if you have a horse, pony, mini, or donkey who:
• is retired but could use some extra movement and entertainment
• has an injury/condition that makes traditional forms of exercise (riding/lunging) unsuitable
• has a damaged relationship with movement/"work"
• is overweight
• you are unable to play with due to lack of time or physical limitations
• or you're simply after an alternative way of exercise/entertainment for your horse that is force-free and beneficial for their physical and mental health
..shoot me a message!
My work is tailored to suit each individual horse and any quirks, difficulties, or preferences they may have. Please don't shy away if your horse has food anxiety or a
tendency to turn into a TSA agent every time they suspect that you may have a few shreds of food in your pocket- such things are manageable and oftentimes easily fixed.
I'm also available for helping people learn how to play with their horses, positive introduction to tack, weight, and rider, and teaching singular tricks within the horse's capacity.
Currently frequenting the Kumeu/Kaukapakapa/Dairy Flat/Helensville/South Head areas but can travel elsewhere too.
Prices from $30 per session
(with possible variations depending on location and individual requirements)
