I'm sorry for the graphic photos but there is no other way to show you.
This, this is a dog heart full of heartworm.
So much so, that they started to infest his lungs as well.
You can also see the damage they have done to his lungs. There are holes in his lungs as well as large patches of scarred tissue.

I have preserved both his heart and lungs, they will be available once finished.

This one is very special that I may never see again.

This baby was the result of a pregnancy with one of my Chihuahuas.
She needed a caesarean and inside was this gorgeous gem along with 2 live pups.

This is what is called "mummified in utero".
This pup has died during the pregnancy and to prevent infection spreading and aborting the litter, mums clever body has mummified the deceased pup in its sac.

I have included a photo in the comments of how the "lump" looked immediately after being removed from the uterus.

He's a bit hard to see so I will flip him around, but my daughter breeds Pekin chickens.
Sometimes, when they are hatching, the membrane dries onto their feathers and they become "shrink wrapped", unable to hatch and so die in the egg.
This baby was one of those and she asked me to give him a new life instead of disposing of his body.
He also has a club foot, so his life would have been uncertain for that as well.

These buns are not yet finished soaking so still more work to do on them, but I've had this image of a ying and yang bun...

Death doesn't need to be the end for these gorgeous babies even though some have had their lives on earth shortened.

I take pride that I am giving them a chance to be loved, even after death.
