Let’s talk litter boxes!! 🙀
Cats can be so picky when it comes to their boxes! Urinating or defecating outside the box is one of the most common issues we see in cats. Here are a few recommendations on reducing stress around the litter box & hopefully prevent accidents outside the box!

✔️Have one more litter box than you have cats (ie 2 cats = 3 litter boxes)
✔️Keep them spread out throughout the house; on different floors and in different rooms, not side by side.
✔️Keep them in quiet, non cornered, open areas. Avoid closets or small bathrooms.
✔️Unhooded boxes & unscented litter is preferred
✔️Cats like clean litter boxes, scoop or change your cats litter at least once a day!

⚠️🔥The sun is out, and the temperatures are HOT!🔥⚠️

This Summer the temperatures are going to be warm, please keep your pets safety in mind when it comes to being outside!

🚨Heat stroke or hyperthermia can occur with extended exposure in the heat.

🚨The most common causes of heat stroke are being left in the yard without access to shade or water on a hot day, vigorous exercise during hot temperatures, or being left in the car.

🚨Brachycephalic dogs (flat faced dogs; pugs, boxers, bulldogs) are at a greater risk for heat stroke because of their restricted airways. This makes them more prone to issues with elevated temperatures or activity on warm days.

🚨Heat stroke is a medical emergency and can be fatal. If your pet experiences these symptoms it is important to get your pet to the vet immediately to reduce their body temperature in a controlled manner.

Please do not leave your pets outside unattended or in your vehicles on days like today!

The successful cases make it all worth it! 💕

This is Darla - 3 months ago she was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia, a disease that destroys platelets in the blood supply. A low platelet count can lead to internal bleeding. When Darla came to see us she had almost no platelets and was starting to show micro-bruising in many areas. She went from healthy and active to lethargic and sick in just 24 hours.
Darla’s family caught her symptoms early and were so diligent with her treatment and rechecks that only 3 months of medications and appointments has Darla officially off medication and her platelet count is higher than ever!

We are so grateful for Darla’s parents and all their hard work! She is the sweetest girl, and it makes us so happy to see her healthy and full of energy again! 💖✨
