One of our patients has a stuffed toy likeness of himself for charity! Hunter is an electronic detection dog who works with the Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

For every toy dog purchased, KNOT TODAY Foundation will give one to a child who has been rescued from sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking. Not only that, all proceeds from the stuffed animals will go to help fund a mobile forensic unit for ICAC.

For this , we are finishing up our celebration of National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week! 🧡

🐈 Mended Hearts Rescue is just as special as the animals they serve. Formed in 2010, their primary mission is to provide assistance to dogs and cats who need a little extra help, especially those who require substantial medical care.

Mended Hearts Rescue also has the Our Friends of Gladys program that provides caring hospice homes for terminally ill or senior pets to live out the remainder of their lives.

🦴 The Friends of Indianapolis Animal Care Services Foundation was established by concerned volunteers and leaders of Indianapolis Animal Care Services. They saw a need to address the city’s ongoing homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected animal population as IACS takes in 16,000 dogs and cats annually.

The Friends Foundation’s primary mission is to help off-set the cost of life-saving and comfort items for the animals who are in the care of IACS. 🧡

In honor of National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week we're celebrating IndyHumane! 🎊

🐶 IndyHumane has been around since 1905. When they first started, not only did they take in lost and stray animals, they also provided shelter for women and children. In line with their mission to prevent animal overpopulation, they provide low-cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. They also provide a pathway to affordable animal ownership.

🐱 Cat’s Haven is the oldest no-kill cat sanctuary in Central Indiana. They provide a home for special needs and senior cats who have been abandoned or outlived their owners. Meet Mari, one of our newer Veterinary Assistants! 🐾 For Vet Tech Week, we asked what she loves about being an assistant, and she says, “Being a baby tech and working in such an inclusive environment has been such a blessing to my education (and sanity!).

I’ve always been drawn to helping animals but never considered a career until 2020, during the crisis of the century, realizing that I wanted to do more with my life. It’s turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made, finding something that I’m passionate about as well as learning new ways to help my own animals at home!

My goal as an assistant, soon to be RVT, is to educate our clients on how they can keep their pets safe and healthy at home to maximize quality of life, regardless of health status, and provide compassionate care whenever they find their way to our clinics. I found kindness and care as a client, and I hope to pay it forward as an employee.” 🧡

“Hello everyone! My name is Jazmine and I am the Lead Veterinary Technician at our Irvington location. I actually found my love for veterinary medicine when I started working in a shelter. I loved getting to find the perfect home for pets and watch people create that beautiful bond.

After I graduated tech school, I became an ER technician. As you can imagine, this was a great, albeit fast-paced, way for me to learn and sharpen my skills. I never thought I would end up in general practice (GP) because I thought it would be boring and slow. I am so thankful I gave it a chance because it has given me the opportunity to thrive and become the tech I am today.

The relationships I am able to create with clients is something you can't experience in any other field. Educating clients and helping their pets is what makes my job worth it, even on the hard days. I just want to say that I am so thankful for our clients and my coworkers for making such a positive, beautiful experience during such a scary, unpredictable time! You guys are the real MVP's. ❤

𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗩𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸! 🩺

Our Vet Technicians and Assistants are an integral part of our day to day. Their duties are very similar to the nurses you'd find at your doctor's office. This team of rockstars does a lot to support our veterinarians by monitoring pets' care after surgery, giving prescribed medications and immunizations, performing lab tests, and collecting samples for testing.

On top of that they maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment, feed and look after the pets in our care, and help provide emergency first aid to sick and injured pets. 🐾 And they're there for our clients, even on the toughest days.

We wouldn't be here without their hard work and dedication to quality patient care. If you have an appointment with us over the coming days, be sure to wish the team a Happy Vet Tech Week! 🧡

It’s Boss’s Day and we want to show some love to the 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗕𝗢𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗭, Dr. Phillips! 🎉 9 years ago, he started City Way Animal Clinics on Mass Ave but he didn’t stop there. He has since opened many doors, including those in Irvington, Fountain Square, and Fall Creek Place... Not to mention our grooming salon, Furr: Pet Spa!

We're not only inspired by his progressive visions and innovation, but also by the way he gives back to his community and the opportunities he gives our team to do the same. We are incredibly grateful for the time, guidance, and support he gives us.

We were excited to host our second 5 week Puppy Preschool class with Veterinary Behavior of Indiana. Being a pup at City Way Animal Clinics has its perks, as these classes are exclusively for our current puppy patients! 🐾

Puppy classes are great because they get to learn social cues, as well as basic commands and training techniques. These are important to learn in the first year as it not only benefits their development but sets you up for success as a new puppy parent.
