Hi Helen,

Was just having one of those moments with my girl and felt I needed to thank
you for this amazing creature you breed and the amount of joy and pleasure
she has bought to our lives.

She arrived at Auckland Airport some 5 years ago, turned her back the moment
she caught sight of us, took a few days of bribery and corruption before she
would trust us and from that moment we fell in love with this amazing,
loving, loyal, intelligent creature that we could ever wish for.
She has an amazing life at Muriwai Beach and is known by all the locals and
is not happy unless she makes a new friend a day. She has lived with our
little 14 year old Griffin and has loved and cared for him from day one.

I’ve had my moment so thank you, you certainly came through when you said
you breed for temperament, hasn’t got a bad bone in her body, makes us
laugh, relax, keep fit and will join us in our retirement ventures in a
mobile home touring NZ....what a way to go ❤️

Our French Bulldog Story

We are a small kennel based in Nelson, New Zealand (NZ) who have been involved with French Bulldogs since 1975. We are members of the NZ Kennel Club (NZKC and now known as Dogs NZ) and Southern Bulldog Club. Our involvement began through our late co-founder Chris Jefferies who originally was a breeder and exhibitor of Pugs under the Chasewood prefix who then decided to add French Bulldogs as an associate breed of Chasewood. Chris’s interest and knowledge in French Bulldogs grew and grew ultimately leading them to become his breed of choice. Chris involved himself extensively in the NZ bulldog community as both an exhibitor and judge. In 2002 to help with the development of the breed he wrote an in-depth article called the “Analysis of a French Bulldog” which is still used today as a reference guide for the breed here in NZ and overseas.

Today, Chrishell continues to breed French Bulldogs based on the underlying principles established by Chris through his partner Helen. Those principles are focused on the health of the dog and breeding in accordance with the NZKC standard.
