Hungry pigs
Just thought everyone would like to hear these piggies squealing like as if they hadn’t eaten in days. This is the noise they make every single feeding time They also make this noise when it isn’t feeding time. Big Red is a massive instigator of this behaviour. The Kunekune’s always join in.
Now that you have heard them squealing for food, what will you feed them? 😆
Big Red
Daily dose of pig noises
Salt
We don’t stop at pigs. We have many other critters who needed a forever home. This is Salt and his buddy is named Pepper. Gerbils are so curious and friendly. I wonder what Salt would do if he actually escaped his home
Pigs
This is what it’s like going out our door. Every. Single. Time.
I can’t get to the hockey rink without running the gauntlet of dirty pig snouts 😜 I have resorted to permanently wearing Tickled Pig hoodies so that people can understand why my pants are always dirty 😂
Rain
Petunia was not happy about the rain either. Her and Ellie are so dramatic
Rain, rain, go away
It started to rain, and Ellie was not happy. She complained all the way back to bed 🤣
Kohkos
This was the noisiest of all the pigs on mani pedi day. Of course once the recording started, she quieted down
Many people ask how we flip the pigs. It starts with reaching underneath them and grabbing their far legs. You pull their legs toward you, which rolls them over onto their back. Most of our pigs are over 200lbs. Often it requires a couple people holding onto them if they squirm around.
Moe… he is always talking 🐽
Moe… he is always following us around
Moe… is already loved 🥰
Moe
On the paperwork, his name is George Jones. He is a 5 year old purebred Kunekune.
We are thinking about calling him Moe. He is a happy fella who seems to think I am his long lost girlfriend
😳
Big Red bit at me because I smelled like my new man 😂
Big n Round 😂
Big n’ Round. Big n’ Fat. I call him names all the time. He likes it. Why else would he always be there when I am outside?! I can’t go anywhere without being “pigged” by Big Red. Being pigged is what I call it when the pigs rub their dirty snouts on me. I never leave the house in dirt free clothing 🤪
When I started petting his head, those oinks he made are called hot pants. It’s a pigs way of showing affection. Big Red is big on handing out hot pants 🥰
This is Mowgli. He is 5 years old and a purebred Kunekune. He was raised in the house, but now lives happily outdoors. He is never bothered by rain or snow.
Leaving
This is how we come and go. We throw food into the yard, and once the pigs are off to the side eating, we open the gate and drive out every so quickly
This is also causing “spoiled pig syndrome” in Big JERK Red 🙃
He expects food the minute I come out the door. He screams, he charges at me, he tries to knock me down, and he has even given me a little nip or two (from behind my back)
Luckily, for my safety, I racked up my credit card to buy fence posts, more fence posts and even more fence posts….. just to keep Red in his place 😜
Any day now, my night in a shining Bobcat will show up and get these posts pounded into the ground.
If you or anyone you know has ever wanted to put up farm fencing, let me know. I need help. Lots of help. Both mentally and physically 🤪😂
