Gavin is a fun mix of playfulness and snuggles. He likes to run around the yard playing with toys, but then he will come inside and crash on the couch with you and maybe want to cuddle, or he might just take a nap.

Gavin is great with other dogs, but what he really wants is to be around his people. He can entertain himself by throwing toys around with his mouth, and then jumping after them, which then makes him so excited that he just wants to run around doing laps around the house or yard. Gavin rides well in the car.

Gavin’s easygoing disposition makes him a fit for just about any family. He loves being involved with what his people are doing and he’s looking for a forever home that is willing to let him join in on their fun.

Hi there! My name is Ron and I am a 2.5-year-old tri colored smoothie searching for my forever home, with the hope of finding one by Christmas.

I live with a bunch of other collies now and get along fine after a good introduction. I’ve learned not to chase cats (kinda), but squirrels and bunnies are fair game so a fenced yard is a must.

I’m getting used to neighborhood noises but wouldn’t mind a quieter home away from that nonsense, either.

I do have a strong personality and a deep voice but underneath I can be a real softie. I’m on the fence about kids - individually they can be ok, but in a group, maybe not so much. I’m athletic, love taking really long walks and toys are great - I even play fetch!

I’m really hoping that my Forever sees this - I’m waiting for you, friend!

We have received this sad update from Parker’s mom:

“It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to Parker, my beautiful, sweet boy and constant companion the past 12 years. 💔 The wonderful memories stretch across many miles both near and far. He was my shadow from Florida to Colorado. Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota and Iowa, too. I’m so glad I failed at fostering because he really was a very special dog. I’m going to miss you, kiddo, but the struggles are now over. Run free and rest, in peace.”

Blue arrived to our rescue in September. Along with several other health concerns, Blue was also found to have heartworm disease. Thankfully, Lizzy's Fund jumped in to help and provided all the necessary financial assistance to cover his medical expenses, including the costly heartworm treatment.

Since his arrival, Blue’s foster mom has been providing him with outstanding care, and it is clear that he has flourished. Yesterday, Blue received his third and final heartworm injection. Although he was somewhat sore and subdued, he is doing pretty well. Blue will need to adhere to exercise restrictions for the next couple of months and will require a follow-up blood test in 30 days.

But wait, there’s more. His foster mom has fallen in love with Blue and decided to make him a permanent part of her family once he’s clear of heartworms. We are overjoyed for Blue and his new forever home!

The word “Rodeo” brings to mind bucking broncos and toughness. These words do not describe our Rodeo. He’s a sweet, gentle and quiet boy. His previous owners couldn’t control his chronic gastrointestinal problem. Poor Rodeo has been experiencing bouts of painful diarrhea for so long. But CRGI’s foster homes have true gift! Patiently, they are working on figuring it out.

Rodeo saw a specialist, had several different tests done, he was then put on a special diet, medication and supplements. YES … it’s been costly! But this sweet boy is only a 1-year-old puppy and deserves a chance! Will Rodeo lasso your heart? A donation this will get Rodeo back in the saddle again. Can you help?

Your donations will go towards collies like Blue! Please donate today!

What really tugged at our hearts was Blue’s outward appearance. He stunk to high heaven. The poor ol’ itchy boy had been suffering from severe flea dermatitis and chewing and clawing at his skin for some time. Not only was he crawling with fleas, but he had bacterial skin infection. Blue’s, legs, back, and rump were balding. Blue’s veterinarian appointment revealed he was not only a host for roundworms, but he also had hookworms and tapeworms. These parasites were the least of his problems because he also tested positive for Ehrlichia (a tick-borne disease) and dreaded Heartworm disease.

Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit continues to shine brightly. He is one loving happy boy who deserves all the good CRGI can give him. We are happy to report Blue’s fuzzy-butt progress is coming along and he’s tolerating his Heartworm treatments. He’s such a sweet and deserving dog.

A donation on , big or small, will make a huge difference in giving dogs like Blue a second chance.

Your donations this will go towards helping dogs like Hermione!

How in the world did sweet Hermione find the strength to carry on? Found running with four other smoothies, she was the only one limping and for good reason. X-rays revealed she’d been shot! Had the bullet hit anywhere else she would’ve been killed.

She is our miracle and so very lucky! The little bone fragments seen in the X-ray would heal over time, BUT our sweet survivor gave us yet another surprise: she gave birth to a litter of puppies. Your donation on will perform miracles for dogs like Hermione.

Why is important?

If Libby could talk, she’d say: “How do you like me now?” Her story is one that will fill your heart with joy. Libby, a young sable merle, was a throwaway pet advertised as “FREE to anyone.” Alerted, one of our volunteers who understood the immediate danger, sprung into action and picked her up.

Libby's physical appearance and mental health were concerning. Parasites were the least of this girl’s problems, her eyes were swollen and very painful, her nose bearing many scars. Libby saw an ophthalmologist and a surgery to remove growth in both her eyes along with a biopsy followed shortly. Thankfully the pathology revealed no cancer!

Once the swelling subsided, we could see her one blue and one brown eye. Her expression softened and she gained confidence. The eyes have healed! The wounds on her nose look much better now. And more importantly, her psychological scars are healing as well.

When CRGI asks for your support, it’s to help dogs like Libby heal and know love.

Georgie was found as a stray, and after her stray hold was up at a shelter, she was released to our rescue. Poor Georgie suffered from severe flea dermatitis and infected skin. She required medical attention and a lot of TLC.
