This is Zoe, my newest foster. We think she's a Lhasa Apso mix. She has allergies that were never properly managed and her hair will never grow back. She has limited sight and chronic dry eye. Her teeth are horrible. She's about 10 years old. Despite all that, she is smart, sweet, and just sleeps all day. I'm hoping someone is looking to give a retirement home to a good dog who just needs to rest. 🥰

This little guy is Toby. When he came to me he was terrified. He would bite and scream and piddle. I don’t know what his history is but it must have been bad. After 3 months of patience and love, Toby just came up to me on the couch and put his head on my lap. What a love! All dogs are worthy of love. 🐾❣️❣️❣️🐾

It is with a very heavy heart that I let you all know that Mack, the most amazing boy ever, passed away last night. I don’t know how old he was but his little body just couldn’t go on. He had been through so much in his life. I just hope he knew how much We loved him these past two years.

My boy Mack!

I took one of my most beautiful photos ever tonight. His mom wrote to me, "He has courage, and spirit, and love and I want that captured in a photo." This is Mack, and he is amazing.

Little Lola was Winnie's cousin, sort of. They came from the same family when the mother and daughter weren't able to care for the tiny girls anymore. Lola was sweet, shy, and funny. About the time Winnie was diagnosed with CHF, Lola was diagnosed with inoperable bladder cancer. For three months it was just a matter of waiting for the tumors to grow to the point that she could no longer relieve herself at which time it would be very painful for her. It was weird seeing this otherwise healthy dog knowing there would soon come a day when it was time to end her life. That day came yesterday. Rest In Peace sweet little girl.

Many of you know that I run a small "tiny dog" hospice. Every dog I get becomes family and I grieve when they pass on. However, I always have a couple of "house dogs." These dogs are not hospice, not special needs, and not particularly old. I expect house dogs to be with me for a long time. Winnie was a house dog. Her little body was perfect. She had no health issues and she was only 13 (barely old in my book). Yesterday she passed away from congestive heart failure diagnosed about 8 weeks ago. She was supposed to grow old with me. I am heartbroken. Everyone, love you dogs while you have them. You never know what's in store for them. Rest in peace little princess.

This is Mack (short for Mackelmore). He came to me a little over a year ago looking like the second picture and just 3 pounds and every single bone showing. I don’t know his backstory. The first picture is him today at a whooping 6 pounds, healthy and happy. He does not have a lower jaw which probably contributed to him being so skinny. Once we figured out food he could he eat he went at it voraciously. I’m so happy to have him!

I have posted about sweet little Pinkie before. She came to me last year after a lifetime of breeding. When she was spayed the vet found that her jaw was broken. A trip to the dentist determined that the two sides of her jaw were no longer connected at the chin, probably due to decay. While working on getting the $2000 for surgery she went blind in one eye. Well, last night she fell off the sofa and landed on her jaw! 😲 It is badly mangled, likely broken. She is having emergency surgery as I write this. She is in terrible pain and can’t eat or drink. Pinkie is barely four pounds and and has had a tough life. The first picture is a year ago and the second is a week ago. I’ve created a gofundme under Pinkie’s Broken Jaw if anyone wants to help. https://www.gofundme.com/manage/pinkie039s-broken-jaw
