Our Dutch Blue baby we got months ago, has matured so well!

First, ZAZU is a boy! And he will be paired with the perfect gorgeous female as soon as we find her!

We’re thinking a Creamino, Pied, or a violet female would be a good match for him!

Melody, has two reasons for her name. One of the reasons being, it pairs with Scuttle from The Little Mermaid.🧜‍♀️🦀🪸🐚Which is whom she will be paired to for breeding in the future.

The main reason… she likes to sit on my shoulder, and she gives me the oddest little chirps, like she’s singing me a Melody. (Props must be given to my husband for blurting out the name Melody while she sang to me). 🎶

She gave us such a scare last night! She broke off a primary feather (the first & largest) at the wing. I was so worried. Thankfully, it wasn’t a blood feather.
So it wasn’t an emergency.

But we did still consult our normal veterinarian. It was initially recommended of course to the pull it out the rest of the way. But, since we can not do that, due to the way it broke off, there’s nothing to grab! For now, we’re monitoring her. Our vet believes we should be fine, and it should fall out when she molts! So we have a couple more months until that first month. So if during that time, her wing appears uncomfortable, or looks irritated etc. We would bring her in to figure out what we can do.

The stress!! Lol. So happy this sweet girl is okay! I look forward to pairing these two quirky blue series Peachface lovebirds together. I think they’ll have spunky babies. ♥️

I have one Male, Double Dark Factor Dutch Blue up for adoption.

He is Not tame. He would be a good breeder or companion bird if you have a lovebird already and aren’t home as much.

His mom is a Cinnamon, split Blue, split Dark Factor.

His dad is a Dutch Blue, Split Lutino, & split Dark Factor.

Our current breeding pairs, and offspring being produced!!

Sun & Sea have been our only breeding pair thus far.

Next year, Scuttle, and one of our own Dutch Blue babies, will be paired for breeding. She still needs a name!

And not pictured. Another unrelated male from a second breeder friend of mine. Ocean is a male Dutch Blue that will be paired up next year as well! We’re waiting for (hopefully) a Violet factor female to pair with him from yet another friend of mine.

Next year will be exciting with 3 breeding pairs!!

I’m the meantime, we’re producing some gorgeous babies!

If you have a moment to share this, it would appreciated! Maybe your friends or family want a baby! We have eggs being laid again! I will only accept a couple of deposits on eggs. I prefer to wait until they hatch and we have a head count!

Keep a watch. Deposits get placed early, and usually before my birds are weaned they are already sold.

These beautiful babies are almost 5 weeks old.

We’re eating loose millet and learning to eat the millet off the stems. Still eating formula.

And all 3 have found their homes!

My hand fed littles are turning out gorgeous!!!

We have TWO Dutch blues and our green! No dark factors showing in this clutch. But they are more than likely split dark.

With my current breeding pair:
Mom- cinnamon split blue & dark factor
Dad- Dutch blue split Lutino & dark factor

Offspring info:
Males can be split cinnamon &/or Lutino.
We can have single dark factor or double dark factor babies. Show or split. Anything not blue, will be split blue.

Omg! Out of all the clutches of eggs we’ve had from this pair, this is our first clutch without the yellow Lutino! Usually we have at least one per egg clutch.

This time it’s two green series and two blue series!

Such a good momma.

We have 3 babies, with one currently popping in the egg. You can see the cracks it’s making if you zoom in on the egg (in some photos). I expect it’ll be hatched out by tonight.

We have two blue series, and a green series baby! With it without dark factors to be determined.

We still haven’t had a lutino in this clutch!

The last egg was infertile, so I went ahead and disposed of it. With 3 babies to feed, and one hatching out, they should be too busy to miss it.

These littles will need their own homes in the coming weeks. They will be pulled and hand fed.
