Motley and Jungle both make lighter-colored Red/Sun Dragons. These girl's colors were more vivid at birth, got lighter as their yellow pigment started to kick in, and they have now passed that "ugly teenager" stage and reached the point where they are starting to gain back color and contrast. They'll be a spectacular adults with BEASTLY genetics!

Our final litter of 2023 arrived on December 18th, this one from Honduran T+ Onyx X Onyx 66% het Honduran T+ (obviously she proved het Honduran T+). These 22 beauties cover all of the combo possibilities: Red Baron (Honduran T+ Super Onyx) and Super Onyx het Honduran T+, as well as Onyx and 'normals' in both Honduran T+ and het Honduran T+ forms. These will be great to pair up with our earlier December litter. This litter arrived on December 1st, and is our first ever December litter. Over the years we have now had litters of boas born in every calendar month!!! This one is a really nice mix from Super Onyx het Honduran T+ X Honduran T+ Sunglow Sumoton (Onyx Motley). Based on the female's adult appearance and this litter, we think she is not actually Hypo (so just Honduran T+ Sumoton), but we hit on every combo including Red Baron (Honduran T+ Super Onyx), Red Opal (Honduran T+ Super Onyx Motley), Black Opal (Super Onyx Motley), and Super Onyx, as well as Sumoton and Onyx in both Honduran T+ and het Honduran T+ forms! 🔥🔥🔥
Our next arrivals showed up on November 10th, and are from Honduran T+ Sumoton (Onyx Motley) X RDR-BEA Ghost. These will be perfect for pairing up with boas from our similar 2021 litter to make the Honduran T+ version of a Phantom/Specter - in loads of different forms involving Hypo, Onyx, Motley, Sumoton, Super Onyx, and Super Onyx Motley! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Look who's a mommy again! As we leave 2023 behind, we thought we'd finally share our last few litters of the year. This one arrived on October 17th and is the second litter from our Groovy Coral Sunglow Roswell girl we produced in 2014. She was bred this time by an IMG RLT double-het Blood/Albino. There were three Roswell Boas ("supers") - one IMG, one Hypo IMG, and one albino. 😍

All are 66% poss het Blood and Albino, and are a GREAT VALUE because your odds are:

This litter of 30 big fat babies arrived Saturday evening - from Sharp Sunglow X Roswell Laddertail (RLT) het Sharp. Lots of nice solid RLT patterns in this bunch!
We had a really nice litter of Hypo RLT Sharp Blizzard/Phantom stuff arrive this evening - from RLT Sharp Sunglow het RDR-BEA X Phantom (Paradigm RDR-BEA). We think one of the two Phantoms is RLT. With the 6 Blizzards only time will tell if they reveal enough pattern to discern who's RLT or not. 🤩🤩🤩
Our first litter of 2023 arrived on August 11 - a small but nice one that included 3 Phantom boas, one of them Hypo. Or, as the breeding was Phantom X Paraglow het RDR-BEA, any of these three could be the BWC version of Phantom (BWC RDR-BEA rather than Paradigm RDR-BEA). 🥳

Two of our most anticipated pairings this season...on top is Sharp Sunglow RLT het RDR-BEA X Phantom (Paradigm RDR-BEA) in her dark phase. Below is Phantom (also in his dark phase) X Paraglow het RDR-BEA - a week ago she refused a meal for the first time this season and she's just now showing the first signs of an ovulation. We need to hurry up and get all of our available 2021 and 2022 babies posted so we'll have somewhere to put the 2023s! 🤣

One of our big RLT DH Kahl/Blood girls had been coiled on the heat and looking loaded for months, but as her due date approached she started to look deflated and we thought she had done the 'false pregnancy' thing. At POS+111 yesterday and still nothing, we were pretty sure she had faked us out. Obviously, we were disappointed as she had been bred by an IMG RLT DH Kahl/Blood, and we had been thinking she was going to have a nice big litter that would help with the long odds involved. Then late yesterday she surprised us again and delivered 40 slugs...🙁...but the good news was that there were 6 big, robust babies hiding in that mess! 🙂 No, we didn't hit on the IMG Roswell Red Dragon, but we actually did really well on the odds considering there were only 6 babies total - we got 1 Blood and 2 RLT Bloods, all 66% het Kahl...IMG or not will wait at least until after they shed, but at least the Blood looks promising! 🤩 Rather unusual for a girl to go that far past her due date with a load so heavily dominated by slugs - we more often see those kinds of litters dropped early with only DOA premies. Of course we would have preferred the reverse ratio with 40 babies and 6 slugs, but all things considered, we are very happy to have these 6 kids in the incubator!!! 😊

I nice litter was awaiting us this morning from one of our smaller female breeders this season. RDR-BEA SuperGhost het Sharp X Paraglow 66% het RDR-BEA. She did not prove het RDR-BEA, so there was none of the Phantom/Blizzard stuff we were hoping for, but these will all be great future Phantom/Blizzard makers - there look to be a good number of Super Hypos in the tub!
Just catching up with posting our latest litter that arrived back on the 13th - Phantom X Motley DH Sharp Blizzard. Not quite the results we were hoping for as we missed on Motley Phantoms and Phantoms, and the two Blizzards in the litter were DOA. Nevertheless, it's a nice bunch of future Phantom/Blizzard makers!
Now, after this brief pause during which we've recovered from all of our early September litters, we enter another busy stretch with another 6 litters due between now at October 3rd! 😲
The Motley DH Sharp Blizzard girl finally gave 'em up between 8 and 10 AM this morning - our fourth litter in four days, and this one was the icing AND the cherry on top! The star of this litter missed on Motley but hit on everything else to beat the 1 in 32 odds on a Hypo Phantom from this pairing with our male Paraglow het RDR-BEA. We also managed to hit on a Sharp Blizzard - probably hypo as it has no discernible pattern, and so no way to know if it is Motley or not, at least at this point. Beyond that, an incredible variety of cool looking boas in this litter! 🔥🔥🔥
Not to be outdone, our IMG Ghost het Sharp girl had her babies waiting for us this morning - a quite literal Labor Day morning for her! She was bred by a male that was either Arctic Glow Motley or BWC Snowglow Motley, and the Sharp Snowglow stuff proves him to be Arctic Glow Motley. The second all-Anery litter of the night, this was another near-perfect litter with a big mix of IMG Motley Arctic Glow and Sharp Snowglow stuff, with no stills, just 2 slugs, and a couple of eye issues we are now treating. This will likely be our only Arctic litter of the season, and it did not disappoint! 😍
The Motley DH Sharp Blizzard in the post below decided to make us wait at least another day, but two other big girls delivered spectacular litters last night! This first one was IMG Snow RLT Motley X Anery RLT het Kahl, and she finished up delivering a nice big litter just before midnight with no slugs, 4 stills, and just a couple of the inevitable eye issues that we have started treating. We are quite pleased with the results!!! 😊
This girl has embarked on a serious excavation project - she is going to drop her litter SOON! Hoping to see a Hypo Motley Phantom in the morning! 🤞😍🤞
This 40+ lbs IMG Motley het Kahl girl gave us a litter last year that was very small, especially considering her size. She quickly gained back the relatively little weight she had lost and then got even bigger. All signs pointed to her being ready to go again, and so this was a rare case where we decided to breed a female in consecutive years. We repeated the same pairing (X Groovy Coral Sunglow RLT) because the few babies she gave us last year were so spectacular. These decisions paid off yesterday with a much larger litter of IMG Groovy Coral Sunglow RLT Motley stuff! Some slugs and stills, and light on albinos/sunglows, but all in all a very nice litter. Hoping that some of these turn out like the two from last year's litter also pictured below! 😍
It was well worth the 8-year wait for this girl we produced in 2014 to give us her first litter, and our first litter of 2022! 35 babies, zero DOAs, and 6 slugs from Hypo Motley Jungle DH-Kahl/Blood X RLT DH-Kahl/Blood - and for a change we killed the odds! There were 5 Sun/Red Dragon things when the expected was 2 (each of these is only a 1 in 16 probability), and the 8 Bloods overall was right about as expected. The 15 Albinos overall - nearly 43% when the expected was 25% - is what helped to boost the number of Sun/Red Dragons. The father being Hypo Motley means that every baby is either Hypo or Motley. Superimposed on that backdrop, the RLT and Jungle genes in the mix contributed to a ton of cool, funky, stripey RLT-Motley-Jungle-Sun/Red Dragon stuff! 🔥🔥🔥
Thought we would share this nice photo progression of one of our favorite boas over the last two years - IMG RLT Paradigm het Anery. Her background darkened up quickly and continues to be a deep, rich chestnut/mahogany color. More recently she continues to grow subtly darker primarily on her head and in the lighter patches between her body saddles. We never tire of gazing at her!

This is another interesting litter from back in October with a whole lot of genes mixing it up: IMG Lipstick-Albino Motley Jungle X RLT Ghost het-Albino. There's a wide variety of looks in this bunch! 😍
