Available for adoption: Pyry is a puppy lab mix about 15-16 weeks old. She gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. Cats unknown. She is crate trained and potty trained at her foster mamas house. She is a little shy at first when she meets new people but that fades quickly. She is very smart so will be a fun pup to train. If you are interested in Pyry please go to www.res-Que.org and fill out a preliminary application.

For those of you who donated to Lacey our Bulldog mix thank you again. She had her vet visit today and consult to check the throat lump and see if a spay would be wise. Blood panel showed slight hypothyroidism but overall not bad. Her lump is worrisome of course. Dr Patti said it was granulated and attached, not something she'd be comfortable removing Because of her age we have opted on a wait and see. She is probably 11 to 12 years old and surgery at her age would be guarded at best. She could already be spayed, why put her under at this age? She's not in pain, air flow is good, she's eating and still has pep in that step. If and when she starts slowing down or shows signs of pain, we can discuss quality of life. We knew when we pulled Lacey that she's elderly and medical would be a constant discussion. Right now she is a happy girl and that makes US happy.

We have a huge THANK YOU shout out tonight, a we can't thank you ENOUGH shout out.

One of our dogs Cya has been struggling with life in general. She was not properly socialized, probably ever and is scared of a lot of things, mostly humans and things that move. She was not thriving in our care, she was existing and this bothered myself (Karen) and Lori a lot. As founders and the two people who decide what dogs come in to Res-Que we felt like we were failing her. Cya does not have a mean bone in her body. She is so sweet, just always on edge and a damn good escape artist. We constantly worried about her getting loose and being hurt.

We approached Kristen at Canine Rehabilitation Center & Cat Sanctuary for help, we felt in our hearts that this sweet girl just needed a break and people who understand and have the expertise for dogs like her. Their trainers are amazing and they are a fabulous organization. We are not afraid to admit, they can help her in ways we can't. Cya has been accepted into their program and we cannot be happier. This sweet girl will succeed. Thank you CRCCS💕. We know Cya is in great hands. Rescues helping Rescues. We are lucky to live in such an awesome rescue community.

Few weeks ago we did a fundraiser with Kris Rotonda from Jordan's Way. Now that it's done and behind us we can sit back with a sigh of relief. But that doesn't mean we forget. We can thank them one more time for a fabulous day and fundraiser. Raising money has always felt like a huge burdan for us and many shelters/rescues really. Lets be real, always begging for money is not pretty but, it's very necessary for our nonprofit and our dogs. Kris and Jordan's Way made that burden fun and helped us in a huge way. We can bring awareness to what Kris does, he cares, he is passionate about rescue animals and he saves a lot of animals with the money they help raise. This is a fact. If you haven't checked out Jordan's Way, we encourage you to do so. We hope to do this again next year, along with our wonderful friends at Washoe County Regional Animal Services. We are going to smash it when we do. Thank you Kris and Mary Lynn for a day to always remember. Seriously folks...Check out Jordan's Way.

This handsome hunk is still looking for his forever home.

Big Beautiful Brix is now available for adoption. Brix is a 90 lb 7 year old Great Pyrenees. He is a big, sweet lovebug. He loves to lean on his people to get petted. Despite his size, he is a pretty active dog and spends hours a day playing and wrestling with his large canine foster siblings. He gets along with other dogs, but once he is established in a home and with the resident dog(s), he can be territorial with outside dogs. He does learn to accept new dogs, but slow proper introductions are a must. Cats are a no for this guy. To the best of our knowledge, he has not been used as a Livestock Guardian and will not be adopted out as one.... that does not mean he couldn't be used as a Guardian but we want him to be adopted to a family where he will be a family member first, a possibly be a Guardian second - the reason for this is that if he is adopted as a Guardian and isn't good at it then he would likely be looking for a new home. If he's adopted as a family member as his main purpose, then he is still a family member if he doesn't make it as a Guardian.

Please do your research on the breed before applying. They shed, drool, and bark. Brix is not a dog that barks just to bark, but he will bark if he feels there is a threat.... coyotes, delivery drivers, neighbors, and strange dogs will all get him barking and/or howling. A yard with a secure fence will be a requirement.

If you think Brix might be a good fit for your family please apply using the Preliminary Questionaire under Forms/Applications on our website.

This is Rhett...he is approximately 17 weeks old, he's a double merle, Australian Shepherd mix. He is gorgeous. Rhett is deaf. He can see, he is slightly, sight impaired but he gets around just fine. Good with other dogs, he's very puppy like and has a lot of puppy energy, an older laid back dog, might take offense as he loves to play and rough house. Rhett would probably chase a cat to play with him/her. He is learning hand signals. For more information on Rhett, please fill out an application res-que.org under forms.

Welcome Lacey to Res-Que . This sweet girl found herself at WC Animal Control after her person passed away🥺. Not only did she lose her home but her person. We are happy she's with us. Lacey made it out of the shelter because someone stepped up to foster her. She's a lucky girl and we appreciate her foster Rachel for asking to take her in, giving her a bath amd making her comfortable. Lacey has some medical things going on, the biggest concern is a lump on her neck. If you want to help with this sweet girls medical, she and we would be most grateful. Money isn't everything though, prayers, good energy and happy thoughts for Lacey are always appreciated.
