About us
Raining Cats and Dogs Kennels are an established boarding kennels providing the highest level of care for Dogs and Cats. We are based in Stretton on Dunsmore, on the outskirts of Rugby and Coventry. We have a growing customer base within the Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire area and can accommodate over 100 dogs at any one time.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and dedicated Kennel assistant to work within our small, friendly team. You must have the initiative to work alone when needed and be confident when interacting with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Good time management and organisation skills as well as maintaining good relations with our valued customers is essential.
This role would suit an enthusiastic and energetic person who has a passion for working with and caring for animals, ideally living within a 30-minute commute to our site.
Job Description
Position is for a Kennel Assistant and Driver
Requirements include:
Previous experience in animal care is preferred.
Due to our location your own transport is essential.
This is a physical job and requires working outdoors in all weathers.
The position will require working weekends, weekdays, bank holidays as required.
Salary negotiable, depending on experience.
· Full, clean driving licence essential.
· LEVEL 2 / 3 Ofqual diploma in animal welfare (either completed or still studying towards qualification).
· Being familiar with handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments
· Must be flexible – days and hours may vary depending on shift patterns and staff availability.
General responsibilities include:
Cleaning and preparing kennels to a clinical standard.
Providing animals with environmental enrichment through play and exercise.
Preparing meals and feeding.
Administering medication.
Working to kennel policies and procedures.
Interacting with customers.
Liaising with the supervisor.
Grooming (such as brushing and bathing).
Monitoring animals and reporting any issues to management to ensure animals welfare.
Minor site maintenance and upkeep tasks as required.
Processing payments.
Answering phone calls.
Transportation of animals as required.
