This is being shared for your acknowledgement please do your research on dog toys.

UPDATE: One of the companies that produced this design, Benebone, reached out to us today. They have pulled the design from their inventory but they are still on the shelves while retailers are being contacted. The company has said they will cover veterinary costs associated with this toy. They were very kind and are working to correct the problem. If you know a doggy affected and subsequently treated for this type of mishap associated with this particular Benebone design, please contact them.

PSA: This is the second dog within the last month that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.
Do not, I repeat, do NOT buy this type of chew for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this kiddo, our doctor was able to wiggle it free but our previous victim was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides safely.
Both dogs are lucky they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.
