What is this creature you may ask? One that needs a home! 🏠 Lou & her sister Libby, need a place to call forever. These two are some of the sweetest piggies ever! 🖤
They’re bonded friends, around 10 months old. Lou is the black agouti Peruvian (so gorgeous, we’ve never seen one!) & Libby is the tri colored Abyssinian.

If interested in adopting (or even foster to adopting!) please DM us or email [email protected] ⭐️

Whose piggy (or piggies) need a perfectly round faced brother?

This is Phantom, a 3 week old baby boy who needs a home. He doesn’t mind being picked up & cuddled, which can be uncommon for these young piggies. Phantom’s mama was saved from a huge hoarding case a few months ago, that suffered terrible welfare & heat stroke. This boy is totally healthy & needs a place to call home - will that be with you? 🏠🖤
He has been around herds of piggies, so this kiddo would be a perfect candidate for living in a herd or having a single buddy.

He’s ready to go to his new home this weekend! Email us at [email protected] or DM us if you’re interested in meeting this cutie.

Tippy had her vet visit!!

Remember our crooked, head tilt piggy, that was “damaged goods” by a pet store? She had her first vet appt with our primary vet. After examining & going over her history, we have a few ideas on what could cause the head tilt. The two main ones being: possible E Cuniculi (fungal infection that causes head tilt, when kept in large unsanitary groups) or born this way. She’s not in pain, there’s no injury, she’s not neurological, & no ear infection. It’s possible she came out of the canal incorrectly when being born (as we all know petstore pigs are in**ed). So we’ll work on her range of motion in some physical therapy exercises too. Tippy was sent home on a short course of fungal meds, to rule out E.C as well & for extra protocol.
Overall she’s a perfectly healthy baby pig! Just always looking at you with a sideways head 😉

Thank you to all who donated towards Tippy’s vet visit. Thank yous will be going out this week, so please send us your address if you donated! 🤍

What a great time seeing our favorite vet, Dr. R, at her new hospital, ! For those of you who don’t know, my personal pup is a 5x surgery patient at this hospital, with his orthopedic specialist. Dr. R & I worked many years together at another practice, before I stepped away from working vet med. I followed her to her previous practice, but has now transitioned over to OVG! My heart is SO HAPPY as OVG has a special place in my heart, in both my personal pet’s life & now rescue. Not to mention my favorite tech ever (Sam!!!) who I worked with previously, makes all my cute paw prints, & is great with rodents, is now at OVG too!!! Couldn’t ask for a better team & experience over at OVG, for ANY type of pet. 🩵

New buns posted for adoption! 🩷

If I could keep another bun, it would be this girl! Cow is an incredible rabbit, with so much love to bring. She was saved off of a busy road, which turned out to be a hoarding/neglect case of multiple rabbits. Cow is a Lionhead, around 2 years old. She’s great with cats, dogs, & would do great with another bun too. Cow is litter box trained & is ready to give you all the snuggles.

Cow is not fixed, but we can work with you regarding having her spayed at a rescue discount, with partnering vet hospitals.

Baby boy Penn, now named Earl Grey, landed himself the BEST home yesterday 🏠🥹🩶

We’ve been in touch for some time now regarding him & I couldn’t be happier. This sweet family has always been so supportive of our organization & even owns LHR piggies! Earl was saved at a day old, came to me on a sunflower blanket & is leaving with the same blanket at 10 weeks old. Perfect isn’t even the right word to describe Earl. We will miss him greatly, but are so happy for his future & the future cats we can foster!

Team baby kittens or baby bunnies? 🐱🐰

On Saturday we were alerted by a good samaritan (& past LHR adopter!) that two baby buns were found in their neighborhood. With no mama in sight & a foster home willing to help (everyone say “thank you Johanna!”) we took these siblings in. Unfortunately one of the babies has passed, but the other is eating, pooping & thriving.

Today, my lovely husband called me regarding three kittens found in pallets at his job site (busy trucking warehouse). Mama was on the scene, & we will be working on trapping her, but the kittens needed to be removed ASAP. Cats are easily ran over on the property & managers suggested throwing them over the fence (away from the warehouse). Looks like I have three bottle baby kittens! No, we are NOT a cat rescue, but I can do my part to help in the community. 😅😵‍💫

It’s emergencies like this, that keeps the passion going. I’ve been in a current slump with rescue & have had thoughts of shutting down. But getting calls like this remind me that there’s babies that need emergency help, I have the resources, & a strong community for support (you guys!). 🩷

Adoptions may be at an all-time low, but that only makes every happy ending feel even more sacred. 🩵

Chonks & Skunk, two older boys, found a wonderful forever home. Along with hamsters Matilda & Robina, both saved from the LA fires, back in Jan. Trouser the perfect baby bun found a great home too.

Posting this as an update to the community & 30+ individuals who were trying to help bun. Shelter officials were involved in our attempt to saving him as well, who gave us further info on him being euthanized.

As we’ve been actively trying to secure this bun, we had someone alert us the bun was euthanized at an emergency vet hospital. We are so heartbroken, frustrated & saddened by the whole situation. So many waves of emotions & hoops to jump through with this case. I’ll post video story details regarding the situation soon.

To all those who tried to help secure this bun for us & save his life, thank you. To those who sent us this case, thank you. ❤️‍🩹 Rest in peace to the beautiful bun who still had so much life to live.

IF this post comes by the owner, please message us.

She came in a shipment to a pet store with a head tilt, & got the label of “damaged goods” 😔 She was unable to be for sale in the store, so rescue was called. As sad as it is that pet stores still sell live animals, we are grateful for the store to call LHR vs. sending her back to the vendor. We will always help our stores with any sick, injured, or pregnant critters, as other options are to be given away for free, sent back to the vendor or euthanized. Last two photos are of her at the store.

But here’s what we see: a brave, bouncy, happy little soul who deserves a chance. 🐹💗
She’s about 3-4 months old & doing well, but she needs a vet visit. We have a feeling this is a neck injury vs. neurological or an ear infection. Vet visit starts at $90, which doesn’t include any diagnostics or medication.
Can you help us cover her care? Medical funding is needed right now. If you donate, we’ll even send you a personal, special Tippy thank you! 💕
