LHR is located in Modesto, California. We are a foster and donation based rescue.

Been spending the last few days right in this spot 🥹 What a week it has been!

Our 3 foster kittens got spayed last week. Kit, the little runt, did not have a great time. Not only did she have a “ketamine reaction”, causing 107° fevers & truck load of other symptoms, but she experienced trachea trauma during intubation. ❤️‍🩹 I’ve never felt so defeated & drained… just laying on the ground holding my baby, changing frozen packs & wet towels every 30 minutes, watching her temp rise with no other way of helping her, was so terrifying. Definitely took a few days for ME to recover from that event.
Other two kiddos are doing well. Auggie & Tori are quite the duo together! So excited to announce all 3 kitten’s adoptions 🥹🥹
I couldn’t have asked for a better scenario for all 3 girls! Totally God’s plan how it all worked out. They grow up so fast 😭

So many pig/bun updates to come soon! I’ve been sitting on a bunch of updates, but wanted to kittens to be first. Thank you all for your love & support as always 🫂

NEW PIG FAMILY 💞

Please welcome our two mamas & their babies (3 boys, 1 girl) 🥰 These cuties are were in a box under a bridge, taken to the shelter, & are now in foster care. Thank you .guineapigrescue for taking the 3 boys (she just got another baby dumped case today).

Babies available soon for adoption, but mamas will be on prego watch 🍼

Scrambling to find transport so we can save lives!! Can you help? 🤞🏼

🚙 Transport for guinea pigs, 2 pregos + their babies, to Modesto (or even Ripon). Pass off can be in Walnut Grove or Stockton area.

🚗 Transport for 9 hamsters, all separate carriers, to meet a foster in Sacramento. Modesto (or even Ripon) to Sacramento.

All critters will be in proper carriers. Gas money donation can be provided as a thank you 💛

Mazie & Moxie are a pair of precious girlies, who are looking for their forever home. This sister duo is around 3 months old. They’re getting used to being handled, but love lap time & head pets. They’ll even eat veggies right from your hand. What a great pair of baby girls!

Just another rescue trying to stay at float! 😅

Went from 0 hamsters to 17 very quick! All these cuties will be available for adoption soon. Thank you to all our wonderful foster families. 🫶🏼

Saved these two piggies this week from Fresno shelter as well. It was stated 1 boy, 1 girl (ovi pregnant). But nope, 2 old males, the one with “babies” is actually tumors 😵‍💫😔 Need to get this kiddo into the vet for further evaluation.

Then off to the vet later today, with Bao, who we believe has a food allergy. Anyone ever deal with this in a piggy?

We are in desperate need of hamster food, hamster bedding & medical funding. If you have it in your heart to donate, even $10, it would help a ton. Our organization can not continue to save lives & keep these littles content with you! 🤍

Baby syrians!! 🖤

5, 3 week old babies (3 boys 2 girls) & mama entered our rescue today. They’ll be available for adoption very soon, but we will have some foster fails 😆 Thank you Amber, Michelle, & Haley for fostering!!! It takes a village & we couldn’t do it without everyone.

🏠 Tippy found her forever home! This girl will soon join a herd of 6 new besties.

🏠 Single girl Maggie, saved from our hoarding heat stroke case.

🏠 Trio of baby girls that were also from hoarding heat stroke case. (look at that Kavee cage!)

🏠 Our sweet bun Cow, who has a three-legged, no teeth cat sister. Cow lived on the streets & is is now an indoor, free roam bun!

🏠 Lastly, our new bunny Mack! Our adopter adopted Brownie (SF shelter bun) on Saturday & returned on Wednesdayto adopt Mack (another SF shelter bun). Two happy spayed/neutered buns!
