when Calliope arrived, she saw alot of new cats. she was shy and kept to herself. What is our secret? lots of cute siblings! She began to observe that her new siblings are very cute and welcoming. they asked if she wants to play with them. She felted loved and welcomed. Now she is happily playing and spending time with the rest. It is really nice to see this sweet girl bloom into a happy care free girl.

When a cat is FeLV+, there is no way to know how things will turn out. In some cases, it does not bother the cats.
There is no value in trying to guess how things will turn out. Instead, we take all precautions. For food and treats, we make sure they are carrageenan-free.
Carageenan can increase a cat's cancer risk. FeLV+ cats can have a higher cancer risk.
Since carageenan has no nutritional value and there are substitutes, we take the extra effort to ensure our food and treats are all carageenan-free.

Black Black is one of the lastest cat who came ot the sanctuary. But it is not an issue. He is very cute and sweet. His siblings re cute and welcoming.
He settles down very fast and nicely. He feels welcomed and loved. And all day long he has siblings to spend time or to play with. that makes him a very happy cat.

When it comes to rescue work, the greatest attention is when an aimal is rescued. Big relief!!!!! But to the rescuer, rescue work starts the moment the animal is taken in and this is the part people seldom see.
Rescuers need to feed, clean and medicate them for the rest of the animal's lives. They also have to deal with the emotion when the animal passes away.
Over time, it can become overwhelming. They need a break too. When you sponsor a rescuer for lunch, you get them out of their routine to enjoy a meal with fellow rescuers and animal lovers. It is great for their mental well-being.

Melissa's cremation is completed. A sweet little girl now free from her body. Joins alot of siblings at the rainbopw bridge.

We know some FeLV cats have shorter lives. We cannot do anything about it. We cant change the outcome.

But what we can change is the quality of their lives when they are still alive. We want them to wake up each day knowing they are so special and so loved. they can eat whateever they like, play with any toy they want. And know they are loved every minute.
