• "And most importantly... when are you going to fill my food bowl already?!"

Want to capture the purr-fect picture of your pet? Here are a few tips for taking great pet photos.

• Don't be afraid to get creative with angles and perspectives! Try shooting from above, below, or even at their level to get unique and interesting shots.
• Use toys or a noise maker to get their attention and add interest and personality to your pet photos.
• Props like blankets, hats or bandanas add a touch of whimsy or create a themed photo shoot.

Thursday Thought: Did you know that leaving the TV or radio on for your pet can help ease separation anxiety while you're at work? It's true! The soft sounds and voices can provide comfort and companionship, making your furry friend feel less alone. Just be sure to keep the volume at a comfortable level and choose pet-friendly programming (no loud action movies or startling news reports!).

Bonus tip: Classical music or nature sounds can be particularly soothing for anxious pets.

We have a special pet in today’s Spotlight Appeal. Let us introduce you to Caeli Mae (57290288) at the Fairfax Campus!

Cali Mae is a sweet, excitable, and happy gal! She is a 50lb senior dog with big, beautiful eyes and a black and white coat. Cali Mae came to the shelter because she was too energetic and rambunctious for her previous household. Cali Mae previously lived with another dog she reportedly did not care for. Cali has a lot of energy for her age and loves exploring spaces and entertaining herself with toys! Cali can be jumpy and mouthy. She could benefit from a patient family who is willing to work with her on training. She also could use a house-training refresher. At the shelter, Cali Mae was given a dog-to-dog introduction, and she was very eager to play and meet with the other dog, but the other dog was timid and uninterested. If you have another canine family member, we highly recommend bringing them to the shelter to meet Cali and ensure she fits your pack well. Adopt sweet and spirited Cali today!

Great news: Caeli Mae is eligible for the Adoption audition program. It is a 5-day trial adoption period with no strings attached! Talk to the Customer Care staff for more information during open hours of either shelter location.
