After an action packed weekend at the oaks pa and New York white plains shows The Gecko King, Inc and I can finally take a breather! We are half way through the year and can proudly say we have gained some amazing new customers! Thank you guys for your support, we will continue to bring you guys the highest quality geckos and customer service!
We are currently no longer shipping for the summer. All sales that’s are not picked up or delivered will be held for the summer till temps drop to safe levels. Summer holds are free! It’s a good opportunity to begin payment plans!
I want to thank everyone who came by our table at the Nassau reptile show and of course made a purchase! I appreciate your support! A few tips to help you guys get started!
1) allow your gecko to acclimate by not holding it for a week or so to get comfortable in its new surroundings.
2) make the food in small amounts and store in a tiny sq**rt bottle in the fridge.
3) when you make the food it’s ok for it to be a little watery so it doesn’t stick to their toes.
4) dehydration is a killer so when you mist make sure you don’t under do it but of course don’t over do it. If you find the enclosures is bone dry by morning feel free to mist lightly again to maintain humidity which is important for them to shed properly.
5) you may not witness your gecko eat, however I’m sure they are eating healthy geckos won’t starve themselves.
6) watch for p**p in the tank on the paper towel, glass, plastic vines. This is a good sign that the gecko is eating and p**ping and maintaining normal digestion.
7) avoid heat lamps and heat pads if your house is drafty in the winter you can use a space heater to raise ambient temperature.
8 ) your gecko is a solitary animal they don’t need friends or playmates.
9) it’s important to follow the instructions carefully! We set you up for success not failure!
10) reach out to us for any questions no matter how big, small, or dumb you think it is. There are no stupid questions! I’m happy to help you in anyway I csn and the faster we address your concerns the more confident you will be.

Good morning everyone, this weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Nassau Reptile Expo and here is our honest feedback. The show promoters were polite and energetic which was a breath of fresh air. The venue was small but spacious with large aisles and plenty of room to fit strollers wheel chairs and crowds. While they did not have a place to get food they did have a snack station that provided cold water for $2 which was fantastic! The vendor table price as very affordable while the price of admission was the same as most shows. Lots of quality vendors with various reptiles available. The foot traffic was better then expected and while customers cave in waves most were just not ready to spend money and lots were there to just walk around see some reptiles and do some research. That being said lots of vendors reported they didn’t do as well as they hoped and most animals sold for under $150 mark. Plenty of geckos and snakes were available and every table looked awesome and all animals appeared to be healthy and happy! The venue was extremely clean and everyone appeared to have had a wonderful time!
The bad, unfortunately the venue was not temp controlled and it was hot and humid from start to finish this and some adults and most children irritable and some families were forced to cut their visit short. The heat chased off some customers. I would love to see them invest in something to keep the location nice and cool.
The venue is portable potty style which I will say they maintained very well and were kept extremely clean by the end of the show the potty’s were still clean which is difficult! However they did smell like a portable potty always does extremely gross. The men’s wash room ran out of paper towels to dry their hands and the hand blower was not working when we attempted to use it. Also vendors were asked to break down the tables at the end of the show which would speed up the breakdown process of the promoters team for clean up. Some vendors didn’t seem to mind while others seemed to feel it’s the set up and break downs teams job.
Overall this show has the potential to be one of the top rated shows in the area due to its location being close to the city and not too deep onto the island. Would love this venue to have a food truck or food booth that is affordable unlike oaks the other shows. If this show could stay reasonable on pricing but raise its standard a bit I would put this show to rival the top attended shows in the area! The foot traffic alone was impressive for a first time show. I would love to see some more advertisement and some larger name vendors come! All and all it was a fantastic day!

This is Chubbz she came to us from an online sale of someone getting out of the hobby. 70 grams of pure love! She’s recently joined a white wall project but her weight makes it difficult to be locked locked. So on a diet she goes 😂.
Zeus comes to us from The Gecko King, Inc he came as a young adult male and has been at the head of our lilly white projects for two years. He has produced some gorgeous offspring that have made their ways to many other breeders collections across the country. He’s a true stud!
