I just wanted to thank everyone that responded to my job advert, I have been inundated since I posted it this morning, I’m overwhelmed by the response I have had, I really am ❤️
Please do bare with me I will respond to everyone, it just might take me a few days as I’m working very long hours with the horses right now but I do really appreciate you all taking the time to get in touch.

Im looking to expand my very small team and hoping to find a few vibrant and enthusiastic people to be a part of our work!

Candidates must have experience of yard work and handling all types of horses. The role includes all yard work and handling rescue horses, competition horses, Draft horses, broodmares, colts, foals and youngsters.

A love of cobs, natives and draft horses is essential to work here, if you are wanting to be around blood horses then we are definitely not the yard for you!!!

I’m looking for people who work to a high standard and take pride in what they do at all times. Well mannered, with a good sense of humour, honest and reliable.

The welfare and wellbeing of my horses must always come first, so please only apply if you have an open mind to force free training and handling, building trust is key to my work so my staff must be consistent with my methods, my horses are treated with the respect and understanding that they deserve at all times.

The roles are employed roles after passing a probation period, I am flexible on days/hours but it will include some weekend work on a rota. Candidates must be 21 years old and over.
Candidates must have experience of working on a yard and be capable of working unsupervised.
The positions are part time but more hours will become available for the right people so please contact me to discuss!

Along side our rescue work we are now also a stud. We are most definitely a stud like nowhere else! In Spring 2023 we rescued 5 mares all with very young foals at foot, all of them desperately in need of safety to look after their babies.
Hours and hours of patient, quiet work has gone in to rehabilitating them, one thing is for sure… we have changed their lives, all 10 of them, and they are safe now and always will be. And momma Rumba has given us a surprise, that she is actually in foal again! After everything that this little lady has been through before we found her, I’m simply astounded that she has kept hold of her precious unborn baby whilst desperately trying to keep little Chief safe as well. Spring will be giving us the most special little foal that will not only be a surprise when they arrive but it will be a fighter that’s for sure and will grow into one very special horse!
Our stallion René covered three of our rescue ladies Grace, Pearl and Saffy who are all in foal to our gorgeous boy! So spring 2024 will see our very first Spring House foals that have been born with us. All our horses have the very best of absolutely everything and our pregnant ladies have been christening our brand new stable yard!
For me ‘stallion life’ is a sad existence and I needed to come up with a plan for René so he didn’t spend the rest of his life alone. So he went off on his luxury holidays to Stallion AI Services and banked us enough frozen semen to last us for years and potentially sell some to a select few. And then he was castrated and came home to us a gelding so he can now live a long and happy life safely in a herd. He is so much happier in himself now which is a joy to see! and hopefully next year we will be out competing together!
Then our last foal due next year is to our beautiful Brandy, who is Shire x ISH and is in foal to White Lodge Stud’s gorgeous class 1 ID Cappa Sarsfield. The combination of Brandy and Simba is going to be one very special foal that’s for sure!
Then finally two very special ladies who will be part of our Stud are Thalia our Shire mare and Abbie our Clydesdale mare who we will be trying to get in foal in the 2024 stud season, it is a life long dream to own both of them and such a privilege to be a tiny part of preserving two rare and ancient breeds! So much to look forward to and such an exciting new chapter for us here ❤️

Spring House Farm is over 400 years old, when we bought it nearly five years ago it was extremely run down and in desperate need of renovation and development, the yard had been empty for over 10 years and many of the buildings were unsafe and falling down, even stables that had been left needing mucking out!!
We have spent the past five years clearing, cleaning, painting, repairing, restoring, stressing, worrying, building and planning! The dream has been evolving every step of the way but the vision has always been clear…. to build an equestrian facility that is truly unique, to enable me to continue with my truly unique work with my horses and keep making a difference and changing lives.
We now have a waxed track 40x50 arena and waxed track exercise track covering one third of a mile, that I designed as a track turnout that can be sectioned off and also access to every field via the track. We also have 5 all weather turnout pens each with a large shelter and automatic water trough and hay box.
Our barn has 6 generous stables and then our new yard has 6 huge foaling boxes. We still have many exciting development plans for the future and it’s so exciting watching it all come to life!
Everything at Spring House Farm Stud has been designed with horse welfare and wellbeing at the heart of it. All of our horses have the very best of absolutely everything, they have suffered enough in their lives, their home here with us is their safe space and for most of them, it is the first time that they have been able to trust and also the first time that they have ever been loved. They are all treasured from the moment that they find us and for the rest of their life. They only leave us when I find that special person who they are waiting for and until then, they stay here safe and loved ❤️

We’ve been very patiently waiting since July and it has definitely been worth the wait! We finally have power on the new yard (two thirds of it right now, soon to be all of it!) the girls are all very pleased with themselves ❤️ it’s so exciting to see it all come to life and I can finally ditch the head torch 🔦 🙌

Surgery, 10 weeks of box rest, so much stress, an unbelievable amount of worry, another trip back to the vets after surgery to stay over for a week of laser, endless in hand walking in the dark as not enough hours in the day right now! But the main thing is he is still here with me where he belongs and that is all that matters ❤️ He is a fighter, that’s for sure! He always has been always will be 💪
And as I watched my boy having a nanna nap in the sun this afternoon I felt overwhelmed by how excited I was for him and that he is completely unaware that tomorrow he will be allowed out for the first time in what feels like a lifetime with his bestest friend in the whole world my little Prince who has missed his uncle Alfie so so much ❤️

I took him to his wonderful new home this morning, one thing is for sure, he will be sorely missed by all of us. I’m so so sad to let him go but over the moon that he has only gone 15 minutes down the road and so excited for him that he’s found his forever home and relieved that he will be loved and safe for the rest of his days now. But he always has a home here if he needs us 💙
He was such a good boy, loaded and traveled like a little superstar and then met his new neighbours: geese 🪿 and turkeys 🦃 and then walked into his new stable like he had lived there all his life and tucked into his hay and chatted to his new pal Ozzy. Wishing you all the luck in the world my gorgeous little man in your new home, here’s to many many happy years together, we love you so much💙

A very successful day yesterday with Buddy scoring our highest score together of 72.11% I’m so unbelievably proud of how far he’s come and all our hard work is paying off! First outing wearing our Spring House Farm branded gear as well, me and Jeremy Oliver in his and hers outfits 🤣 you can’t beat a bit of matchy matchy! What a great venue Croft Farm Livery & Events is and very well run and a lovely friendly atmosphere, we will definitely be back again! Thank you so much Cornish Equestrian & Bespoke Embroidery the whole team love everything that you did for us and finally a bit of cooler weather to show it off!!

René having a bath ready for coming home to us after his 5 week holiday! He arrived home safely on Sunday evening and has settled straight back in like he’s never been away, it’s so good to have him home, we have all missed him so much. I’ve not sold many for the past two years after a rotational fall that brought everything to a halt, me and Alfie were both extremely lucky to walk away from it.
So my Roxy has ended up staying with us for two and a half years just because of my situation and then me putting off letting go of her. She has had the very best start to her education here with me and then after my fall while Alfie was still out of action and I really shouldn’t have been getting back in the saddle yet, she was the one who got me back on board, she was my rock when I could barely face wearing a hat because of the pain let alone actually ride, but I just needed to be on board. She got me back out competing after such a long break and reminded me of exactly why I do what I do. My girl with the biggest heart and the most beautiful soul, it was finally time for her to spread her wings, find her soulmate and give that special person her heart ❤️
It was the hardest goodbye and yet the easiest at the same time as I know she has found that special person who deserves her love and will give her everything. She will be treasured always and that’s all I could ever hope for. Wishing you all the luck in the world in your new home my gorgeous girl, you are sorely missed and will have a place in my heart always 💜

We are all very excited that Brandy finally scanned in foal (she definitely made us work for it!) To White Lodge Stud’s Cappa Sarsfield, we feel truly privileged to have been allowed to use such an amazing stallion for our girl. It’s going to be a long wait to meet him/her but I have no doubt that their baby is going to be incredibly special!

We are really pleased with Dudley’s progress already! He’s starting to lose weight at a healthy rate and is very much enjoying starting his education. He is a late starter but is the most genuine and happy soul and I’m sure he will make a fantastic riding horse 🤎🤍🤎

We’ve had a very busy year so far! I’ve been a bit useless at posting on here so I’m going to try and catch up!
René our young stallion ran out with three of our ladies in the spring and I’m very excited to announce that all three have scanned in foal to him!
Even in early spring with the weather against us Saffy was conceived pretty much straight away, she had clearly made her mind up she wanted one of his babies ❤️ so she will be due 25th March 2024!
Pearl and Grace took a bit longer but both ended up being conceived on the same day we think from the scans! So they are due 1st May!
We are absolutely over the moon and so unbelievably excited for next spring!
My little ladies have all had physio to make sure they were comfortable afterwards and are now living their best lives waiting for their luxury new stables to be finished so they can move in!

Yesterday the construction of the new yard was completed!
It is truly beautiful 🖤🩶🖤 it really is a true testament to the craftsmanship of Prime Stables Ltd we can’t thank you enough for making our dream come to life, what you have done for us has literally blown us away!

I see you pouring your heart and soul into those mares praying for a good heartbeat check.

I see you, missing family gatherings because a mare needs bred. Or one is about to foal.

I see you, sleepless nights hoping nothing goes wrong at foaling time.

I see you, crying because you lost a foal, mare or both.

I see you standing over that prize yearling, that just broke its leg.

I see you, struggling wondering which incentives to pay into. Because everyone wants them all paid into every incentive possible.

I see you, as you are saying goodbye to the old mare that started it all… wondering if you should keep going.

I see you, struggling on which mare to breed to which stallion to hopefully make someone’s super star!

I see you, smiling because it all went right this time!

I see you, smiling because someone called to tell you how much they love that foal you raised. And it is their heart horse!

Keeping going small breeder! Because without you, there are a lot of people missing out on that once in a life time horse.
