Billie wanted to show you all her amazing road safety!
We’ve been working on this with Billie since she joined us a few months back and now she just knows what to do every time we approach a road/stop😅
Kunik meets cows😅
She was a little unsure about what these huge field dogs were! I explained to her that they are called cows and they can be quite friendly and playful, so she went and said hello🥰
Exposure to livestock is so good for dogs, especially for them to learn to behave nicely around them and not to scare/try to hurt!
Please please always be careful around livestock and remember to keep your dog on a lead whenever around them, no matter how good your dog may be off a lead!! 😅
Last week me and Nala took a little trip out to the garden centre!
We worked on Nala’s ability to be around lots of new smells and people and be able to be calm!
She did a lovely down stay around distractions and took everything in her stride 🥰
We absolutely love our weekly training walks with Loona, it’s been so lovely to watch her grow and learn from when we first took her on🥰
She used to struggle with getting so excited about wanting to say hello to everyone and anything! In this video there is a runner coming towards us but with the training we’ve been applying we simply give her the ‘leave it’ command and get her to walk on and she doesn’t go to jump on them! Because joggers are ever so exciting to young doggies!!
Well done Loona 🐾🩷
Bentley out with us last week for a very wet and soggy training walk!
Here is showing you all how attentive he’s become even when off lead! He used to struggle with listening 👂 and sometimes chose to ignore you completely but these days he’s checking in with you so much more and doesn’t wander far!
We’ve been doing a lot of work on his recall around other dogs and distractions too
Well done Bentley 🐾
Nala showing you all her amazing down stay and her lovely ‘speak’ command!
This girl has come on such a long way since I started working with her last year, it’s so lovely to watch her have more freedom out on walks and actually be able to enjoy herself without getting super stressy😅
Of course the squeaky balls come everywhere with Nala 🙈
Kunik out with us for her weekly training walk!
Here she is showing you all her working on the ‘place’ command, this was only the second time we’d practiced this but she has picked it up so quickly!
Place commands are so helpful as they can be used in a number of different situations for example
- Used to place a dog on its bed while you’re eating, cooking or doing something that you don’t want them to be involved in.
- While out in cafe’s, pubs etc. A blanket or place mat can be used for this
- When out and about, it can be really good mental stimulation for dogs to do different commands and ‘place’ on different objects/surfaces 🐾
Everyone meet Bonnie!
Bonnie has been doing some 1-2-1’s with us for a few weeks now, she initially started with us for some help with her lead walking and muzzle training! Unfortunately she didn’t come from the best of places so her mum has been working extra hard to give her the best possible start🥰
We introduced a ‘Canny Collar’ to Bonnie’s lead walking and she’s improved massively, there’s still room for improvement but it’s made walks more enjoyable for both Bonnie and her mum.
Last week my girl Araya joined us for a walk to get Bonnie able to co exist around other dogs without feeling the need to react or refuse to move, both girls did absolutely amazing and they both showed everyone that not all bullies are the same!!
Excuse Araya trying to take my leg out🫣🤷🏽♀️
So last week Nala made both me and her mum super super proud!!
We had a massive breakthrough with her lead work and finally we achieved her walking nicely on her flat collar only, normally she is walked on a slip collar and she’s done so well with this so we thought we’d challenge her a little bit and she aced it!!
Well done Nala and her mum!! 🌟🥰
Kunik out on her weekly training walk with us!
Her lead walking and engagement with me has come along leaps and bounds and she now can have more freedom when out and about! 🐾🥰
Willow learning some new tricks on her training walk with us, on this walk she started to learn ‘around’.
This is just one of the little tricks I like to teach doggos just to incorporate some fun into their training😅🥰
It’s not all work round here, we do have fun too!!
Nala ensures that we visit the little lake each walk we have! 🥰😅
