Sadly we lost one puppy. Mom and Dad have finally ate after 7 long grueling days of 24 care. This has been such a rollercoaster ride of emotions and a labor of love to save the innocent. How crazy that we love our daily poop check in.

Basel and Rosemary adopted Ice Pop back in January. This is a couple who had never rescued or trained, or for that matter, owned a dog. All this changed when they met Ice Pop and he worked his puppy charm.
Basel planned on taking Ice Pop (now named Miles) to work as his office is dog friendly. And just look at Miles now! Perhaps his tricks will earn him employee of the month!
Miles (Ice Pop) came from the Palm Springs area where there were an abundance of dogs living in a backyard. Rescue groups often step in to promote spay, neuter, vaccines… and all too often the adoption of unwanted puppies.

In just the month of August, in conjunction with Fix Long Beach Pets and Animals, our volunteers worked 12 hour days with not much time off to take care of...
- 387 spay/neuter procedures
- 12 major surgeries
- 62 hoarding animals rescued and fully vetted
- remodeling our cat room and Xray ultrasound suite
- 15 animals housed by us, assisting our local Animal Control when overflowing and in need of help
- 6 matted dogs in need of grooming
- Saving 4 dogs from euthanasia
In JUST August alone. Now multiply that by 12 months...
And that doesn't include the number of dogs we have rescued and placed in loving homes.
We are raising funds this week through #LongBeachGives, a fundraiser for non-profits serving the city of Long Beach. Last year we raised just over $5k which covered ONE dog's surgery.
This year our goal is to raise $10k. So far we have raised just over $600 in early giving which isn't surprising. The majority of dollars come in on Thursday, the actual date of Long Beach Gives.

Lola training
Because we stepped up to take so many unwanted litters of puppies at once, some of them got left behind and are now several months old and growing. They still need loving homes and have so much to offer. Just because they are larger doesn’t mean they need a ranch - they need as much space as a little dog if you are an active person.
Look how perfect Lola is and think about a dog who needs a hero. They were small once and they are just as trainable and a thousand times more grateful.

A little rain isn't stopping us from getting pups homes! Come out we're here till 3 p.m.
Hunter
Hunter is an inquisitive and active dog who came to us missing the bottom half of one of his hind legs. We are not sure what happened but the remaining leg was slowing him down. Last week, Hunter had that leg amputated and look at him now -- he's getting around great! Now we need a foster to provide Hunter with a warm bed while we search for his forever home. If you can help, please contact [email protected] for more information. Donations are also appreciated to cover Hunter's remaining medical bill. Thank you to those of you who already donated towards Hunter's surgery!

Sunday found her forever home with daddy Angel and sisters Patches & Coco two years ago. Angel just sent us this sweet video update showing us Sunday is still daddy's little girl!
