Our Story
Our journey with coonhounds began December 18, 2013 when our first bluetick puppy, Cora, was born. Cora was gifted to us by Bawlistic Blueticks. Her father was an amazingly well behaved dog that was loyal to his family, loved showing, and hunted as well. We then purchased Kitty. Kitty is the dog that really made me love showing. Between 2013 and 2017 we aquired a few blueticks. In 2017, we adopted Cora’s mother to be a youth dog/family pet. Tia is very driven to hunt and does well showing as well. However, she is semi retired and just a loved family pet that we pull out to show/compete with occassionally. We have grown over the years to include Bluetick Coonhounds and Treeing Walker Coonhounds. We introduced our first Treeing Walker Coonhounds in 2017.
While we mostly show our dogs, many of them have hunted before we purchased them and occassionally we find time and a place to take them hunting. We have several puppies in hunting homes that range from raccoon, coyote, bear, and bob cats. A few puppies have gone to show homes, while others have gone to homes where they will be tracking. We prefer hunting homes for our puppies but are not against selling to pet homes either. Our first concern is that the dog will have a loving home for the rest of it’s life.
Our pups are a bit more expensive than a typical hound down south. There are several reasons for this. First is the high cost of raising a litter. Each puppy has several hundred dollars put into it. They come with shots, dewormed, vet exam, puppy packs, and a ton of socialization. Second, we put a lot of time and money into showing, competing, vetting, and health testing our dogs. Third, we do not sell puppies to be “disposable”. They are sold as family members and are not to be passed around all the time. If for any reason the buyer is not able to keep the dog, we require that the dog be brought back to us.
Pups will come with limited AKC registration unless otherwise agreed upon. UKC is availabe to pups that will compete or receive full registration.
