Definitely a first! Our granddaughter, Hazel, gets to meet Fred for the first time & hang out at her first schooling show. In honor of Fred’s tail, it was only fitting that I went as a skunk! 😉🦨

So yesterday, our grassroots effort paid off with a totally fun, fundraising event for our newly organized Matanuska Dressage Society. We are partnering with groups like 4-H, Pony Club, the Icelandic and Western communities to spread the word that dressage is for everyone!

Fred sez: Uh oh! Mom’s pulled out her clippers & gone to town on my winter coat! Thank goodness she’s getting better at straight lines! She’s also been doing some gradual grooming with her special Bit-O-Bucket Baths! She’s washed my tail & unmentionables, my mane & forelock, even my fetlocks. This can only mean one thing: it’s a dressage clinic weekend with Tim Forster. Come watch me at 9:45 AM Saturday & 4:00 PM Sunday as I continue to work those PSG moves. BTW, I have a few special words for whomever thought it would be a good idea to counter canter in the corner! I know we’re working on balance, but really? You try maintaining 1,236 lbs with that ‘light on your feet’ attitude…it ain’t so easy! 😝

Join me, my Outside Alaska friends, for a glimpse of spectacular beauty our state has to offer. Yesterday, my husband & I drove 350 miles from our home in Eagle River to Fairbanks for a charity event. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, temperatures of 24 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit, some bouncy frost heaves, icy roads through Broad Pass & incomparable views. This 5.5 hour drive never is boring, even after close to 50 years of residence. Enjoy! ❤️
