Poochie's Community, we need your help!! 🙏🐾

We have a momma dog and 5 puppies that need a foster home immediately. She gave birth a few days ago and her owner is not able to provide the necessary care for mom and puppies.

Mom is a small breed mix, under 20 lbs. We will not be separating them as they are still actively nursing.

🐾🐈Let’s shine a light on Tortilla and One Eye...🐈🐾

Can anyone tell us why two kittens have been waiting since August to find their families? It's time to change their story! 🥰

One Eye and Tortilla came to us from a shelter in the panhandle after One Eye recovered from his enucleation. They were initially pulled with another kitten who has since been adopted. Somehow, these gorgeous kittens haven't been adopting and we're hoping to make that happen! 💕

Tortilla is about 10 months old and is a calico domestic shorthair. She is very petite at about 6lbs, incredibly soft and slinky, and is wonderful with dogs, cats and children. She is litter box trained and is a lap cat extraordinaire 😍 She loves her foster brother, Walter, and her fellow Poochie's adoptable, Peppa. Tortilla also loves to play with Walter and sometimes gets into shenanigans with him. 🥰

One Eye, the charming 11-month-old grey and white tabby domestic shorthair, tips the scales at 7lbs of joy. He's an outgoing, friendly 😁 cuddle bug who loves to snuggle with his foster mom. He is wonderful with dogs and children, as well as cats. One Eye loves to play with running water and can be found sunbathing in front of a window. He is also litterbox trained.

These two do not need to be adopted together, but we do recommend adoptive families have at least one other friendly cat in the household. These social butterflies deserve to soar with adopters who will give them the love and attention they crave!

All cats are provided with appropriate vaccines, sterilization surgery, a microchip, and are guaranteed as recently dewormed and UTD on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

We hate to see our fellow small rescues suffer 😞 These guys do the hard work so many others are unwilling to do! They deserve a helping hand and a BIG thank you!

Last night we made a post that we were closing our doors, lots of people were heartbroken by this news. Happy Tailz is not closing for good. Our intake is just closed for now until we can manage to get our nearly $5,000 bill paid off and a little extra in the bank. We have been struggling severely financially for the last 6 months. Happy Tailz is at a negative amount so our board members have also been spending their own money and maxing out their credit cards. It’s not fair to them. There are currently 66 cats and kittens under our care. 6 of which will live with us for the rest of their lives due to medical issues that have made them unadoptable.

Our current goal is a $10,000 fundraiser. $5,000 so we can pay off our outstanding bill at Harmony Vet Care and $5,000 in the bank. It’s a lot to ask for but with 22,000 followers on the page…if even half donated $1 we could get there easily. We know many of you have donated prior and money is tight. But if anyone is able to help us get out of this jam we would be so appreciative. If we can fundraise beyond our goal we can likely even reopen for intake again! If you can’t donate please share in hopes of helping us reach a bigger audience. The kitties need you. We need you.

Oops! ALL BOYS 😍

It seems the two sweet girls have gone pretty quick! It’s all right though, we still have these 4 handsome, chunky boys for your viewing pleasure!

🥰We have puppies!!!😍

‼️Why has no one applied for this sweet cat???‼️

Omelette is an older kitten/ young adult that has been with Poochie’s since she was only 7 weeks old. For some reason, this poor beautiful kitten has not had a single application in the several months she has spent with us. She is a vibrant, sweet cat with so much love to give!

Omelette is the sister to Bacon and Pancake. So far, only Bacon has gone home. It has been nigh impossible to find placement for our cats and kittens this past year, which means that we cannot take any more until we find the ones we already have homes.

Take Omelette for example, who’s playful and friendly. She is fantastic with other cats and children. While untested with dogs, she would only need a bit of time to adjust. She is content to just sit with you and enjoy life, but also has enough spice to keep you entertained. She’s literally perfect for a home with children or a couple.

All kittens are provided with age appropriate vaccines, including rabies, sterilization surgery, a microchip, and are guaranteed as recently dewormed and UTD on flea/tick/Heartworm prevention.

🚨‼️FOSTER DESPERATELY NEEDED‼️🚨

DON’T SCROLL! We really need your help!

This 7 week old male kitten is in VERY bad shape- URI’s, ear infections, ringworm, maybe more. He’s on multiple medications and should be kept separate from other pets until his skin clears up. He is boarding at our amazing partner vet in Gainesville but we need to have him in a foster home ASAP tomorrow morning.

Not many people will care to read this far, because they don’t think they help this cat, or simply don’t want to go through the effort of caring for him, but the reality is HE NEEDS YOUR HELP and that is NOT going to change anytime soon. FOSTERING IS FREE. We provide EVERYTHING you need. Worried you’ll keep him but can’t afford another? Don’t be- the vast majority of our foster homes do not foster fail!

💕🔌Outlet is officially looking for her forever home!!🔌💕

Outlet is an approximately 1-year-old, 32 lb. mix who is SO ready to be a part of your family! We currently do NOT know her mix; We have a Wisdom Panel being processed, but we cannot answer questions about her genetic makeup at this time.

Outlet came to Poochie's after a rescue plea was sent to us by a Good Samaritan who was temporarily housing her. She had been found after living in the woods and surviving alone for months. We knew our Poochie's family could find her the best possible home, so let's get to work! 😊

Outlet loves hanging out with her foster siblings outside! She has done well with cats, dogs, and her foster mom's pet pigeon. She has started to open up and cuddle regularly 💕 She does do well on leash but can be a bit shy in crowded places. She's definitely going to take some time to open up but is genuinely such a sweet girl! 🥰

We are recommending her adoptive home to have a fenced in backyard. Due to her history of evading rescuers, we feel like it would be best to have a secured, contained area to roam around her home.

‼️Possible mange case in desperate need of a foster home in Gainesville, Florida‼️

We were contacted by a Good Samaritan who found this dog out in the freezing cold. She was so weak she couldn’t even stand up, but she still wags her tail when she sees people.

We do not know much about her, she does not have a name, but what we do know is that she is in desperate need of help. We urgently need a foster home willing to step up at least temporarily until we can confirm what kind of skin ailment she has.

She appears to be an Australian Shepherd mix, of a small to medium size. So far she has proven friendly around other dogs and children, but until we confirm what is affecting her skin, she should be kept separate.

Once again, this is an extremely urgent need, and she needs your help to get better!

‼️ABANDONED SENIOR NEEDS HELP‼️

This sweet old fluffball is called Dude, the Big Lemeowski! He came up to his current foster’s door looking a day from death right around Thanksgiving. His eyes were gooped shut, his ears were infected, had a bad upper respiratory infection, and worms to boot. He spent a few weeks in quarantine, got neutered, and is now free of all of those nasty illnesses 🤢. He’s ready to go home, but sadly many people would turn him up for his age alone 😞

He is in need of an alternative placement as he is at the bottom of the pecking order in his current foster home, and it isn’t good for him at all 😔 We need a foster or adopter to step up and help this sweet old boy in his golden years!

He is the most loving of boys! He will always take a snuggle, follow you wherever you want to go, and loves to chirrup at you. He is a professional biscuit maker with 8-10 years of practice. He does need those rolled eyelids fixed, but as they aren’t bothering him right now, it’s something we can do after he gets settled.

El Duderino deserves the best home. His foster absolutely would keep him in a heartbeat, but with the current situation, that's not in the cards. We believe someone needs this boy in their life. He certainly needs you!

🥥We are still looking for a home for Princess Coconut!!🌴

Coconut is a 1-year-old lab pit mix who is SO ready to be a part of your family! Coconut was set to be euthanized due to fear and kennel stress when Levy County Animals Services faced a mandated shutdown in November. We knew our Poochie's family could find her the best possible forever home, so let's get to work! 😊

Coconut loves going out on excursions, exploring her foster mom's family farm, and zooming around the yard with her two foster siblings, Ellie and Alfie 😂. She’s a BIG snuggler and a total love 💕 Don't let her size fool you, she has deemed herself lapdog material. She has done great with cats, dogs, livestock, and children. She is food motivated, and leash trained. She is quite literally the WHOLE package! You aren’t going to find a better girl than this 🥰

‼️The search is over!‼️ We have found the elusive Chupacabra! Or is it a werewolf? Wild boar perhaps? … a fox??

UPDATE: Outlet’s Wisdom Panel has been sent out! Thank you so much to our generous donor!

Outlet 🔌 here is none of those things 😂 Yes, she is a dog, not a wild animal or a cryptid. We don’t know much about her yet other than she is 32.5 lbs, female, potty trained, and was found abandoned in the rural countryside. She was so starved she ate roadkill to survive. An amazing Good Samaritan as well as Williston Animal Group have been taking care of her for a few months, and now she has made her way to us to find her perfect forever home!

She also looks like she licked an outlet, but that’s just her weird coat. We have no clue what she is. If you have an idea, please let us know in the comments below!

Bear came to us from the Panhandle after he was found dumped on farm property and we were asked to take him in. We do not know his exact mix as he was found alone without siblings. We do know that he'll be large since he is already 20 pounds at such a young age!

Bear has done extremely well with dogs and children. While he lives with cats, due to his size, he can come on a little strong to shy felines- playful cats will like him just fine! He’s been making excellent progress with crate and potty training. He is very food motivated and is eager to learn new skills! He already has "sit," "come," and "wait" down pat!
