We have an exciting announcement!

Starting in January 2025, Five Acres Animal Shelter will begin offering low-cost spay and neuter services to the public.

After a wide-reaching community survey, we learned that the rising costs of veterinary care are one of the biggest challenges facing pet parents. It is our hope that by providing low-cost spay/neuter services, we can help keep pets happy and healthy in their homes.

The details:
- Surgeries will happen on Tuesdays each week, starting January 7th
- Drop off will be between 7-8AM, and pick up will be between 2-3PM
- Basic wellness and core vaccines can be added on to appointments for additional fees, but cannot be scheduled alone. (If you are just looking for vaccines, check back for our 2025 vaccine clinic dates!)
- To schedule an appointment, complete an application on our website HERE: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/community/FAAS/47547-public-surgery-request
- A team member will be in contact with you to schedule an appointment. Payment will be due at the time of scheduling

You can find more information about fees and what other services are offered on our website here: https://www.fiveacresanimalshelter.org/pet-owner-resources/wellness/

On Thursdays when I'm tired, I'm completely drained and lack the motivation to do anything. But looking at these guys gives me the strength to keep pushing through the pain and whatever I'm going through that day. Looking at their faces, how could I let them down?
I love them so much! 🥰
Update on my knee well no one's really listening of my complaints and the pain am in. I was deny for MRI until I finish all physical therapy which is not making anything better. I found a place that might be able to help me with waiting on my Dr approval.🙏

Meet Mo-ssouri, our accidental road tripper!🚚 This 3-6 week old bold traveler spent 7 days on an empty trailer from Missouri to our Pottsville Brewery. Found scared and meowing, our team stepped in with food, water, and care. Now, Mo has a forever home with the son of our staff member, who received the purr-fect early Christmas gift from Yuengling, where there’s always something special brewing!🎄🍺

Autumn and Roscoe are doing exceptionally well, despite being somewhat shy and intimidated. However, with patience and time, they will become more confident. They are happy and healthy, playing and adapting to being in a home setting which will make their new transition to their forever living home even easier. Fostering is so important for kittens like Amber and Roscoe.

Autumn and Rescue are getting so big that I put Cat Collins on them yesterday so they can get used to having them on. They're still getting used to being picked up and handling; they're a little shy and timid, but doing quite well.
