Oooo some lurvly satisfying scratching going on here. After being out on the track the herd freely chose to come back to the yard for a curious nose about & one after another Harry, Ted & Luna enjoyed giving themselves a good scratchy brush on the brush post 🥰 Love the different techniques they have 😊
We have been in full flow with introductions of new horses recently. We make sure they have plenty of time to explore their new surroundings by successfully separating up specific areas of the track making it easy for them to run as a herd whilst still being safely separated. They are able to meet the other herd horses over the fence for a period of time first before actually going in with each other. When we decide to put them together they will all have run of the whole track & access to all shelters & yard areas etc. With us humans taking peace of mind that each new horse has already had a chance to explore the whole track safely as a pair before hand before going out with the rest of the herd. So far so good 😊❤️🐴
It’s wonderful that Ted & Harry are getting acquainted so nicely with some mutual grooming over the gate 🥰
Was busy pulling up my Mudcontrol mats again today because I want to roll the track & relocate the mats to a new spot for next winter, when I became aware I had a curious little shadow behind me - Ted pony 🥰
It’s rained so now his mud moustache is back 🥸😂
A big rock & a crow bar are good tools for pulling up Mudcontrol Mats. And a little stick is handy to stab out all the mud from the holes 😄 Exhausting but satisfying. I’m moving the mats because I want to put them somewhere else next winter & I want to grade n roll the track now that everything’s finally drying up at long last 😎☀️
After a rainy night, then with mild temperatures the following day Florrie found it very satisfying having a good itch on the scratch post 👌🏼🥰
She had damp fur & she’s starting to malt now already, so her skin must of felt clammy.
It’s great to see the horses using the things we’ve put in place for them to enjoy 😊
I’m enjoying observing what the horses choose from their water buffet & seeing how long they stick on one they like before they start drinking another favourite. They seem to switch which ones they prefer every two days 🥰
All visiting the water buffet together tonight 😊 And once again I was blessed with beautiful bird song in the background 🥰
Oh I just loved hearing the Starlings chirping away in the hedge this morning 🥰
A night of weathering the storm is exhausting isn’t it Ted! Peaceful sleepy time now it is 🥰
Itchy scratchy! Ted loves a butt scratch.
😊🥰😆
After their adventures on the track the boys loved coming back to the barn to discover the fluffiest of straw beds waiting for them! 🥰
