Price increase to dogs with fleas. 🙈
I have noticed an increase in dogs coming in to be groomed with fleas. Fleas very easily spread from one pet to another.
They can also catch them from being out side in areas that you may find hedgehogs or other types of wild life.
However there are plenty of treatments to choose from to prevent your pet from catching fleas and spreading them.
Every time a dog comes in to me with fleas, there is a high risk that the fleas will infest other dogs.
In this case I have to use a flea shampoo which costs more to try and prevent the spread as well as a room fogger to kill any remaining fleas left in the grooming area.
To cover my cost I will have to charge an extra €15.00 on top of the groom.

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog was been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning.
