Anglia. Reptile, Inverts & Amphibians. Anglia. RIA is a friendly organisation for all enthusiasts and owners of reptiles and amphibians. The I.H.S. There is a Twitter account too.

Anglia RIA is for all beginners through to advanced enthusiasts and owners of all reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians. So, whether you have a bearded dragon, royal python, fire bellied toad or red eyed tree frog you will be welcome to join us. We can also provide advice and support which is given by our highly qualified and experienced professional and amateur h**petologists. IHS Anglia, while

run independently, is also part of the International Herpetological Society (I.H.S.). was originally founded in 1969 by a very small group of reptile enthusiasts and currently caters for approximately 750 members both in the UK and overseas. There are a number of regional branches throughout the UK which all meet on a monthly basis. Our committee is committed to the ongoing research and propagation of all reptile, amphibian and chelonian species. Only with your interest and help (by joining the society) will this work be possible. A number of our members are actively involved in Herpetology professionally and give their support to the society in numerous ways including articles for our quarterly journal 'The Herptile' and by giving of their very valuable time to provide lectures at local branch meetings. IHS Anglia runs the social Facebook group which IHS members and friends are welcome to join and it also has it's own group for IHS Anglia members. If you cannot find what you are looking for on our page, please send us a message!

We've had a few PMs "sent" by exotics breeders. However, they have not been. Scammers seem to have got into their PMs and are sending messages to their contacts. Please don't get sucked in.

Always best to get your reptile checked out.

Curtis the Central Bearded Dragon came in yesterday because her owners were a bit concerned about her eyes and a lump that had been growing slowly on her side.
A close examination of her eyes revealed some unwanted guests! Curtis had mites that had been causing irritation.
The lump turned out to be a melanoma and we went to surgery to remove it. During the operation we discovered she had some internal issues so while we were there we fixed that too!

Always research before you buy. Have the correct set up (tried and tested) before you bring the animal home. Know where your local / nearest reptile vet is and take it if / when it needs to go.
(But don't forget to...) Enjoy endless time (and money) caring for, observing and being with your reptile.

Please, idk where to start 😂 #2009 When I rescued 6 toads from a swimming pool. At that time I was more proud of holding 6 toads at once in one hand 😬. Toads are amphibians and btw pretty much all adult amphibians are carnivores. They eat prey items that they can fit whole into their relatively large mouths. Toads are like little animals, lol. Amphibians also absorb things from the environment through their very permeable skin and that's why they're typically the first kind of animals negatively impacted in areas with pollution. If we want to keep amphibians around we need to be responsible human beings! Happy Thursday 😉 **p
