Bella loves water so we took a trip to Sconce & Devon last week!
While it’s a bit toasty it’s important to assess each dog and whether they can tolerate the heat we’re having at the moment. Bella absolutely loves water so we spent most of the time splashing around to stay cool 💦
Other dogs might not like water or not cope with the weather so could be changed to a “drop-in” instead.

Behaviour Post: I couldn’t be more proud of Zap! I’ve been working with Zaps owners & their trainer for the last 6 months or so to try and get his behaviour under control. He is dog reactive and didn’t really have any manners when he first went to his new home!
We had 4 successful walks last week with no reactions to other dogs (from a distance) and another successful walk today! Whilst I’m sure there will be some hiccups along the way, this is a huge win. ❤️
Zap absolutely loves his tennis ball so I’ve used a long line on him for the first time and we’ve played fetch in a public place. On this walk, dogs walked around us on 3 separate occasions. He was happy enough to acknowledge they were present, but continue playing. 🎾
As a member of the public I understand seeing an ‘aggressive’ looking dog out and about can be intimidating and it’s easy to judge. Please try to read a dog’s body language from a distance and react accordingly.
We have had a few instances over the last few months where we’ve been out on training walks and Zap has clearly shown behavioural signs of being anxious/uncomfortable upon seeing another dog. Unfortunately, on the odd occasion, owners have continued to walk directly at us despite me and Zap trying to get out of the way.
This can then trigger him (or any dog) to react in a situation that could be avoided.
If you see a dog in training, or showing signs of being uncomfortable on your approach, please slow down and assess the situation before continuing.
I take my hat off to Zaps owners and anybody that is working with a reactive dog. It’s a challenge but if we work together as pet owners/professionals I do believe we can make a real change to these animals lives, and make them happier!
Instead of thinking “that dogs nasty”, I hope we can change the narrative to applaud owners, trainers and pet professionals for trying to better their dogs behaviour and celebrate the small wins like I’m doing

We went to the park, she was so well behaved and did actually come back when I shouted her 👏🏼
Once she was tired we hopped back into the car and went to @k9newarkbynaturalworld as I’ve heard she’s pretty famous there 🤣
She had a very excited lap of the shop and a fuss from the ladies working, I bought some pick and mix treats bought Peach a Chicken treat for being so good 🥰
On the way home she tried to convince me she could drive… 🤔
She got her chew when we got home and that was out 60 minutes up!
