**ADOPTED* *Jade is a beautiful ginger chihuahua mix who resembles a little fox. She is 4 yo, 17lbs and was an owner surrender 3 weeks ago due to the housing crisis. She is vetted, microchipped, UTD on shots/vaccines, house trained, smart, loyal, loving with a sweet temperament and balanced personality. Not a barker but will alert you when unfamiliar guests are on your property (lawn ppl, solicitors.) she gets along well with my male dog and my female senior foster dog. Foster found!!

We are looking for a foster or foster to adopt for sweet Miss Blondie while she waits for her spay appointment. This girl arrived yesterday with her two sisters and she is just so scared and overwhelmed at the shelter. I’ve been trying to give her lots of one on one time and cuddles, but I think she would really do best in a home where she can be more comfortable.

Blondie came from a home with both large and small dogs and is very sweet toward people once she warms up.

We believe Blondie is a Chihuahua mix and she is about 7lbs. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, deflead, and started on dewormer. If you think you would be a good fit for Blondie please apply here and shoot us a message!

I had a temporary foster that took me in so I wouldn't be euthanized (thank you!), but now I'm ready for the next chapter of my journey: I need a foster family or better yet, a forever home! The two most urgent dogs in our rehoming program!!!
Jeffrey and Tifa are both considered urgent - they need very special homes to step up for them.
Jeffrey is a seven year old German Shepherd Dog that has lived his entire life in an outside kennel pen.
His owner passed away and the family is urgently seeking a safe place for Jeffrey. Because Jeffrey has never lived in a house and hasn't been exposed to much outside of his pen, he needs an experienced, patient adopter to help teach him house life and go slowly with his social exposure. Due to the fact that he hasn't had any sociazation he would need to be the only pet and in a home with no children.
Tifa is a young Catahoula hound mix. She has struggled with some significant resource guarding issues over her toys and food. Despite extensive training support, Tifa's best chance at success is a home without children and other pets. She would need someone very experienced, preferably someone who has had a dog with resource guarding issues before. The rescue will continue to pay for her training for her new home to help set her up for success.
Both dogs are available for a reduced adoption fee of only $450 and both dogs are fully vetted (spayed/ neutered, vaccinated, etc).

Hi! I am Gatsby a 12 month old, 45 lb, Pit mix looking for my forever family. I am UTD, neutered, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and super duper smart/ eager to please boy. I am medium energy and would love a family to cuddle, cuddle, and cuddle some more with!
Going on walks and having playtime would be great too! I was born in the woods and spent the first two months of my life living out in the wild so because of that, I can be shy at first. But after 5 minutes I am your best friend and I will give you my heart and soul!!! I currently live with a pack of pups and I do AMAZING with dogs!!! I have been through training and boarding at the facility to help with my social skills and confidence. I have seen cats before and would likely do well with a confident one if you teach me how to live with them. A home without little kids would be ideal, only because I am still learning to not be so scared of things and they can be fast and noisy. I can't wait to find my forever family, could it be you?

post is about YOU. Every one of you that have supported us - this week or in general - we are so, so, so grateful.
Less than one week ago today we didn't have one single bag of pet food anywhere in the building. Not one. Thanks to all of you, we are bursting with more food than we can possibly store.

Frankie was found by a Good Samaritan after he was hit by a car. He had a few broken bones and a ruptured lung, but he has fully recovered and is ready for his forever home. He is very sweet and he loves to play. He is good with other dogs, he is currently in a house with 4 large dogs and he is great with all of them! He has also been around children and he does well with them, too! He is crate trained and does well when left in his crate when no one is home. Frankie loves Kongs, plastic bones to chew, chasing a laser, and face massages. He has never lived with cats but his foster Mom says he seems uninterested in them when he sees them - he might do well if the adopter has experience introducing a dog to cats.
Frankie is a 1-year-old, 52 lb, Pitbull mix looking for his forever family. He is UTD, neutered, microchipped, house trained, crate trained, and is partially trained on leash. Frankie is medium energy and would love a family to cuddle and go on adventures with. He is good with other dogs, unsure with cats, and good with kids.

Kaido was recently left tied to the front door of our community resource center, abandoned. He is looking for a true forever family that will never again discard him and abandon him. He is currently living in boarding because we did not have available space for him when he was left tied to the door without a plan. He appears to be housebroken, seems to love other dogs and is shy but so sweet with people. He also appears to be housebroken. He does cry a little when we leave him in the kennel and may need some help and support on crate training. He is in such urgent need of a second chance, please consider giving Kaido that chance to show you what an amazing boy he can be. He is a year old (according to the note his owners left) and is vaccinated, neutered and healthy.

Hi! I'm Rizzo, a very sweet, loving, happy girl! I love to go on trips and walks. My foster mom has me working with a trainer and I'm learning how to walk on a leash. I love Benebones and stuffy toys. I love to play catch, and cuddle with my PEOPLE! Did I tell you people are my most favorite? I am good being left loose in the house, but I prefer to not be left alone for long periods of time. Please don't leave me outside, I can be in a crate or left out in the house if you leave. I have amazing jumping skills and can scale a fence with no problem so I will need a family prepared to leash walk me always.

Rizzo is a 3-year-old, 65 lb, American Bulldog/Pit Bull mix looking for her forever family. She is UTD, spayed, microchipped, house trained, and is learning how to walk on leash. Rizzo is medium energy and would love a family to cuddle and go on adventures with. She is only good with medium-sized, submissive, yet confident dogs, not good with cats, and great with kids.

Hi, I'm Lil' Kim. I am a young, loving and sweet girl. I love sitting on laps and getting lots of cuddles. I also love giving a bunch of kisses and receiving them! I am a little girl only weighing in at 35lbs.
I did come to Second Chance heartworm positive.
However, I am currently undergoing the treatment I need and will be heartworm negative in no time. Treatment will be sponsored by Second Chance until I test negative!:
Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. Since it is not certain what breed I am, home ownership to adopt me is required!
A fenced-in yard isn't required, but definitely preferred!
I'm young, so I have lots of energy!

Hi, I'm Otto. I'm a retired service/emotional support dog. My owner passed away in April 2022 and I found myself without a job. I'm doing my best to watch over my new people at Second Chance, but they have to share time with me and all the other animals in their care.

I absolutely love people, but am not a fan of hanging out with other dogs and definitely no cats, birds, or other small animals. I have a bit of prey drive. Which reminds me, I love to go for walks and rides in the car, but I also love having a backyard where I can hunt lizards. I'm not obsessed, but let's just say it's one of my new favorite past-times.

I have a few favorite toys that I will come home with: a strong yellow ball, a black kong, and a large rope. I enjoy a good game of tug a war and laying at your feet.
I'm a very good boy in the home: No accidents or chewing things up. I am crate trained, but perfer to hang out with the family. I'm going to be 9 years old in November (11/30/2014 - to be exact).

I am an extra-large dog, weighing in at 125 lbs.

I am high energy and would love a family that loves adventure and training! Boy oh boy do I love to work. I am nervous around new people and get rather protective over high value items, what can I say I love them! But luckily I'm working with an amazing trainer who's teaching me that sharing is caring and I get even more goodies when I share... Any rescue or home where they are willing to have and train a dachshund? My parents have had their dachshund for over 8 years, since he was a pup. He is a male. He’s the black & tan one in the picture. And now the landlord is claiming he never said they could have a dog (he is getting old and forgetting) and they have to get rid of him after all these years. He is very attached to my dad. This is really sad.

Hi, I'm Tiger Lily. I'm a sweet, sweet senior girl who is ALWAYS happy to see you. The Vet had to estimate my age but don't forget, you're only as old as you think you are. I think I'm still pretty spunky and full of life! I love to play with my stuffed donut and frog, go for walks, and snuggle. I must've over-used my knees a bit in my younger days because they're a little wobbly, doesn't stop me from enjoying my walks. I'm not a huge fan of other dogs, I'd be really happy to be your one and only!
1am up-to-date on all of my shots, spayed and I'm heartworm negative. Woot woot!
