The little boy is coming back into action. After nearly 3 months spell and the wonderful work of Alistair Brooks... Viking is a different horse. Second day back in harness and he is loving it....

A wonderful surprise in the Clydesdale Cross High Point Award for Viking after his long injury battle, to take out Harness Horse of the Year for the second year running. Very pleased with this little boy. His is fully recovered from his injury battle and as soon as lockdown is lifted we will be back :D

The little bugga needed an emergency ETRT treatment yesterday, He was a couple months overdue due to the lockdown and he became in dire need. He is his old self again, he gets today and tomorrow off then wednesday he is back into work again. He is such a happy fat oompa this morning, all the stiffness, pain and tension gone again :)

The superstar won this today... So far 2 firsts and 2 champs. Champ turnout winning the lovely trophy and champ delivery horse. Still have a supreme and 2 more events. Viking is being a little champ today. Very pleased with him in his first harness show in a year.

Very pleased with Viking today at Berwick show.

2nd Best Presented Clydesdale/Heavy horse
1st Led Utility horse (suitable to ride, drive & pull chains)
2nd Gelding driven in Long reins
1st Ridden Clydesdale cross.

He was a super little pony, he was just pipped at the post in thelong reining the Judge told me, he was very close to winning. A great first show back for the little boy.

He even have a yippy buck in ridden lol but he didnt have the time to have his proper warm up to get into it and get him so he was relaxed and working properly and listening, he spent a bit of time looking about but for his first successful show in just under a year I am wrapped with how he went.

All scrubbed up and ready for tomorrow and his comeback show :D - Berwick Ag show. Only doing led, longrein and a ridden class, no harness classes as I dont want to push him too hard too fast when he is going along so nicely right now. Wish us all luck guys :D

After a very trying year of up and downs (mostly downs) viking's lovely awards arrived the other day in the post from the AGHS performance of 2019. He took out all part bred categories and overall high point of pure and partbred. It was lovely to receive and know that Viking in the next season (this current show season 2020 a wipeout as not been to one Event yet though we have got a few to go yo over coming months if viking keeps recovering as he is) we will be back in contending for 2021 though with a new,and improved little bugga...

He definately has his harness mojo back, he loved the bush tracks at harness club today, his fiurst time there in a long time, he powered along in a way he hasnt for a long time aswell :)

Not too bad for a horse who has only been ridden 2 times before since May last yr, one of those rides was in October of last yr and the second ride earlier in the week. He tried Jo out but she soon put him through his moves, He will get better and better with each ride as he has been with harness since coming back from injury.

Viking looks quite elegant when he uses his body correctly. The seat was raised a little more which has helpes alot with the contact, another inch or 2 I feel and we will be perfection :D (Yep I think positive :) ) Thanks heaps for taking some video once again Jaime :) much appreciated as always.

Viking has a special session today with his ETRT Alistair. It is now all great news and full steam ahead for Viking with his new exercise/recovery routine :)

Not bad for a horse that not only a few months ago could not trot... but even earlier that morning at start of the drive was having alot of trouble in trot.... (its been an uphill battle over the past 9 months). Viking is now coming along greatly, He has a work routine/recovery set out by his therapist Alistair (in the cart with me) and the wonders the new routine did today with getting Viking past the setbacks he has been having. Its all forward for Viking now :D and this morning it was iffy he would make it to the driven dressage qualifiers in 2 weeks time... no longer iffy, the road is full steam ahead for Viking. He still has a few things to work through but we have the routine now to get him past those hurdles and great things ahead once again for Viking... Thanks so much for coming and taking the video Jaime - there was such an enormous change in Viking from the start to the end of the session today :D

After a minor setback last week when Viking zigged when he should have zagged and reniggled his recovery. After his third treatment of ETRT he is back on the road to recovery. Viking helped in the training up of a new student :-)

My little champ did it again and took out the top award for the Australasian Gypsy Horse Society :D he is a grand little handy horse that can turn his hand at anything :D

This years wining has been the icing on the cake for me due to all the troubles Viking has gone through with injury over past gosh probably looking at 6 months he has been struggling with the hind end and the issues had which all came to a head recently in an incident and then a setback, but now after the work a great man has done on him he is on the mend :D but its all slow and steady, building the hind muscles up again and getting him strong and fit before we look at any comps.

Hopefully he will be ready by next february for the driven dressage qualifiers :D as the show season this year is out the door but I am currently looking in december the little MMPHC mini combined Driving event - its the club break up and only for club members so its going to be a great little event where Viking and i can learn as we want to get into the CDE's (we have never done one before) - but as its a club day there will be no pressure on the day so we can take it slow and see how he copes :D roll on 2020 for a great year for Viking as 2019 has been one fully of setbacks in more ways that one.

They say bad things come in 3's well its been a real year of bad things for me but Viking is on the mend and his dam Caleesto - her health scare has had great news as well :) so I have 2 happy and healthy horses again :D

Well done to Team Viking for all being there for me and helping Viking and I along - you all know who you are :D and you guys all make Viking look great :)

Im still awestruck by how well Viking can move those legs when he pus his mind to it. Others might not think much of his movement but I have had more that 1 person say - "wow... he can move" when he gets his body working, and I agree, he has a great movement, comes from his dam's side of the family definitely, the angloarab :)

Its been a long haul but the little boy is well on the road to recovery... he has use of his hind end once again painfree and there is no looking back for him now as we slowly build up his muscles and fitness once more...

Small steps... Day 1 back in harness after ETRT :-) took a little bit for him to ease in and realise no pain :-) Baby steps to bring him back to his best and reach his full potential. for the first time I'm quite awhile he used his hindquarters :-) now to rebuild the muscles...

Well Viking became a pin cushion today, having a mix of different treatments performed from acupuncture to chinese medicine to belgarian (I think it was) medicine to chiropractic and red light therapy :) great news is that the acupuncturist found he doesnt have sacroiliac pain :) he had pain in that region of the body and throughout the rest of his body, more so on the right side but in the sacroiliac he didnt show the joint pain which is a great relief.

Boy did he step out after when we took him for a walk before poor Jaime took over so I could see and we had her trot, he was really stepping out like he hasnt stepped in awhile, he was using that back end of his nice and freely.

He gets 2 days off to get use to his new improved body then back into work with him again. Sorry Viking you dont get time off til end of year for recovery like I was thinking would happen, you have a fast recovery time...

Tomorrow - Viking will become a pin cushion... he receives his first treatment of acupuncture to help him recover from injury. Going to be extremely interesting to see what the lady does to him and how he goes with it.
