We normally do not speak on issues like this, but with that being said, this lady is WAY WAY WAY out of line. I took the time and watched until the end, and let’s just say the lady with the service dog handled herself in a much more Christ like manner than I would have.

We try and lead with love in everything we do, but this lady, may deserve a throat punch! 🤛🏼🫶🏼

This is why our puppy Reload, is so incredible. For anyone that has been asking questions about him, read this!

Here’s a brief overview of some of the criteria we’re considering when evaluating a puppy-young adult for inclusion in our breeding program:

Nerve - evaluated in & out of drive from whelping box to maturity. We select for strong nerve and fast recoveries.
Drive - prey & hunt. We select for high prey drive (actual drive, not just arousal) and natural noses, dogs that enjoy hunting for the sake of hunting.
Health - we use both PennHIP and OFA for hip evaluations, and OFA for spine and elbow evaluations. Abnormalities in any of these areas are a DQ. We also select against things like allergies, weak stomachs, etc.
Sociability - we select for social or socially neutral dogs. Inappropriate dog and/or human aggression is a DQ.
Grips - we prefer hard, pushing grips but intent is more important to us than mechanics (which are genetic but also influenced by training).
Energy - our preference is for medium energy dogs. Plenty of gas in the tank for work but settle relatively easily with appropriate (not unattainable) physical and mental outlets.
Cleanliness - we select against crate soiling tendencies (sometimes seen in puppies).
Handling - we prefer dogs that easily accept handling for routine vet/grooming practices.

These are just some of the things that are important to us in the evaluation & selection process. That does not mean every dog we produce will perfectly reflect what we are selecting for. It does stack the odds in our favor and moves us in the direction of consistently and continually producing the type of dog that we strive for at Della Fuoco Working Dogs.

If you own a Dutch Shepherd puppy, or any high drive dog, do not leave said puppy in reaching distance of your baby wearing a puffer jacket.

*No puppy or baby got hurt during the situation that created this tip! 😂🤣
