Melissa is part of our RCR family, she has adopted Beaux from us first then secondly Bella for her Mother. Melissa and her Mother are amazing people to open up their hearts and welcome not one but two very spoiled rescue pups into their loving home. Melissa is one of those people you meet and never forget. She has such an awesome personality, she is the kind of person you cannot help but become instant friends with. Everyone with RCR is sending many prayers to Melissa and her family for the recent loss of her beloved Mother. We are also asking our supporters to help Melissa in this overwhelming time of need. Say HELLO to Mr. Ridge. He was rescued last year from the Ragley puppy mill, and sadly unexpected things came up for his adopters, so he is back with us! Adoption fees range from $150 to $200. Vetting for adult dogs include up-to-date shots, including rabies & bordetella, de-worming, spay/neuter procedure, heartworm testing, and heartworm & flea prevention medications. ***Adoption fee will increase in the event of unanticipated surgical procedures. Adoption fees for puppies will be discussed in each dog's bio.

Pre-approved adopters will have a "Sneak Peek" at all of our adoptable dogs before they are posted on Facebook or Petfinder. Get your application in today!

Hi guys! We are on break until January 5, 2015! Currently we have no dogs that are ready for adoption. Ella & Bree are going through surgeries and will be posted when we return after the holidays. Facebook messages nor emails will be returned until the 5th. :)

Well, it's official...the entire PLL litter is adopted! These 2 are heading home to Fort Walton Beach, FL. They are heading to separate homes, but the adopters are sisters...so they will forever be together. Congratulations on your new homes and families girls!

Today is what I would call a CRAZY but successful day! I may get a little stressed out when answering emails, messages, and reviewing applications, but the look on our adopter's faces always makes that stress worth it! Enjoy your new homes Emily, Barkley, and Aria!

Okay – I am getting bombarded with questions regarding applications and statuses, so here it goes! For the month of December, we have received 48 applications (HELLO, today is only the 12th)! While that is an amazing number, I am only 1 person trying to process ALL these applications. I do have someone that helps contact vets and landlords, but for the most part…it’s just me! I was planning on picking adopters for the PLL group this week and scheduling meet & greets this weekend, but that has yet to happen due to the number of applications we’ve received. Please PLEASE (in my best begging voice) bear with me!

P.S. If you have adopted or gotten a dog elsewhere, PLEASE email us to let us know that your application does NOT need to be processed.

FYI! If you RENT, we WILL contact your landlord to make sure you are allowed to have pets!!! Failing to provide a contact name and phone number on your adoption application will send it directly into the DENIED pile.

P.S. I would also suggest that as a responsible pet owner that you contact your landlord YOURSELF to verify that you can have a pet in the rental. Please see below why this application was easily denied.

Barkley is a handsome poodle/poodle mix. He’s about a year old (give or take a few months) and weighs under 10lbs. He’s a little shy at first and takes him a little while to adjust to a new place, but once he does, his personality shines bright! He’s a very playful little guy, likes toys and loves playing fetch. He’s great on a leash, but also stays close by when not on one. Don’t mind his lack of hair, it will grow back in time…we can’t wait to see the beauty that he becomes!

Next week we will be introducing the “Pretty Little Liars” puppy litter. They are cocker spaniel mixes (mom is pure cocker) and dad is unknown. They will be 6 weeks next week and available to head to their forever homes in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to the page first.

Please welcome Miss Bree to the RCR group! She was rescued last week from the Vermilion Parish Shelter on the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. We couldn't resist that beautiful smile of hers! Bree will be spayed next week, then officially up for adoption!

***Meet the Chorkie Puppies (Milo, Cooper, Carter, Monkey, & Nola)***

All puppies are half yorkie/half Chihuahua mixture (Chorkie, if you’ve ever heard the “designer” breed title), they are 7 weeks old. All are playful, great with other dogs, and would do well growing up with children.
Males: Milo, Cooper, Carter, Monkey
Female: Nola

They have all received their 1st round of shots and worming. Adopter is responsible for 2nd and 3rd round of shots, including rabies shot. Total adoption fee is $150, the adoption fee covers the cost of surgery at Spay Nation or $70 towards the vet of adopter’s choice. Adopter is required to sign a spay/neuter contract stating each puppy will be altered by a certain date.

Oakley is a yorkie (most likely a mix). He’s about 8 months old and weighs 7lbs. He is very playful and LOVES hoarding toys. Oakley loves other dogs (big & small) and he’s extremely gentle with small children & toddlers. He loves being outside, so a fenced in yard is a MUST! Oakley is NOT potty trained, nor crate trained; however, he is not a marker. He needs someone with patience to continue his potty training.
