🌟 Heartwarming Update 🌟

We are overjoyed to share that our sweet boy is making wonderful progress! His appetite has blossomed, and he now eats with such enthusiasm and determination. Although he’s still quite small, we are wholeheartedly dedicated to helping him gain the weight he needs to thrive. He’s been enjoying a variety of small, nutritious meals, each one crafted with love to give him the strength he deserves.

In even more heartwarming news, he finally has a name! We are so grateful for all the thoughtful suggestions you've shared, including Chico, Hero, and Tyson. Naming him has felt like such a magical moment, and we believe we’ve found the perfect fit. Please join us in welcoming “Fivos,” which means bright and pure. We are so excited for the journey ahead with him! ❤️

As we celebrate the joy of Easter, we kindly ask everyone to be mindful of our furry friends and wildlife during the fireworks displays. 🎇

In Athens, there’s a heartfelt movement to reduce the stress that traditional fireworks can cause to domestic animals and the natural world.
This is being achieved by using quieter fireworks and introducing beautiful drone displays in some areas. While fireworks are a cherished part of our Greek traditions, we can also show compassion for all creatures by considering their well-being.

Our beautiful boy is now settling into his new home. He arrived mid morning after spending the entire night on a boat. A pet taxi picked him up and drove up the coast to deliver him to his foster mum.

It's never easy to transport an animal from one end of Greece to the other, especially when they're coming from the islands. He was understandably frightened, with his senses on high alert, but we're happy to say that he is now eating well and has calmed down.

His foster mum is experienced in caring for paralysed dogs and knows that he should not move unless she intervenes during feeding and cleaning.

He is much smaller than we expected and will
need a lot of care and attention. Additionally, we are in search of a name for this brave boy, as he is only 10 months old and is still a baby! We would love to hear your suggestions. 💙

Times are undeniably tough, and we’ve encountered significant challenges in nurturing the health and well being of all the animals in our care. Yet, amidst the struggles, there are moments of hope that lift our spirits. When we hear a story like the one we’re about to share, we simply can’t turn away; it’s not an option for us 😢🐾

With heavy hearts, we introduce a new member of our family who is currently on a journey from Chania to Piraeus. His path has been filled with unimaginable hardship, having been tragically struck by a vehicle. However, thanks to the kindness of compassionate individuals, he has been granted a second chance at life.

This sweet boy bears a striking resemblance to our beloved Fidel, another resilient soul from Chania who has endured his own trials. Their stories tug at our heartstrings, reminding us of the pain they both have faced. Our foremost priority now is ensuring he receives expert care from a neurological veterinarian. With the right support, there is hope that he may regain the ability to walk, despite the severe spinal condition he is battling, which includes a comminuted fracture of the intervertebral disc. Additionally, swelling along his spine is affecting the movement of his front legs, but we believe that with cortisone treatment, there is a chance for improvement.

For the time being, our main focus is to keep him comfortable and as still as possible to avoid any further complications. We are dedicated to managing his existing pressure sores and attending carefully to emptying his bladder and intestines to prevent infections.l 🏥

The similarities between his journey and that of dear Fidel resonate deeply within us. Preliminary tests have been conducted, and we are currently coordinating with another veterinary clinic. In about ten days, we expect to perform an MRI, a vital step in understanding his condition. Unfortunately, this crucial test comes with a considerable financial burden, and we find ourselves reaching out for your support as we navigate this challenging path.

We are wholly committed to providing him with the love and care he truly deserves. However, the scans and tests will incur significant costs, along with the need for specialised pads, nutritious food, medication, and vitamins to strengthen his immune system. This rescue is fraught with difficult decisions and challenges, but we promise to do everything we can for him. We humbly ask for your help in covering these expenses, reaching out to you in this time of need, just as you have generously done in the past. **Update on July 💞🐾**

Today, July returned to the vet clinic for a follow up, and as you can see, she’s getting better by the day.

We believe that the quick action taken by her foster mum has played a crucial role in her recovery. Within 12 hours, from that night to the next morning, July was already at the vet's. A course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories has done the trick.

As you can see, her smile has returned, and we’re sure she has enjoyed her outings, especially meeting new people! Our vets are particularly nice, so we can understand how she feels. 💞💞

We are incredibly proud of him after everything he has endured. He transitioned from a boy caught in a snare, suffering immense pain, to undergoing months of treatment that ultimately led to the amputation of his leg.

He is a fighter and quite a stubborn boy. Both he and Maira are currently in training, and they are both doing well, although Bennie is still a bit uncertain about the leash.

We want to extend our gratitude to Casual K9 Training and personal trainer Ειρήνη Κλαδοπούλου for their unique expertise and proven track record in their field. 👏🐕🐾

We are once again diligently working to create more products for tomorrow. We also feel highly honored and privileged to be part of the Hoppy Hooves Easter Bazaar here in Athens 🐴🤎

As usual, we will be joined by Pets United and the very own Wash n’ Roll van. Last weeks bazaar was incredibly successful, and we will update you next week on how we plan to use the proceeds. If everything goes according to plan, we will not only be able to help more animals, but also support the beautiful horses that we cherish so much.

We had an emergency at the vet today. Starting yesterday morning, our sweet July was holding her head at a tilt, and we initially suspected she might have an ear infection. 🏥🩺💊

She was examined, and medication was prescribed, which we hoped would address the issue in time. However, we had to take her back to the vet today because she needed something stronger to combat the inflammation and relieve her pain. Overnight, her jaw became inflamed, and we couldn’t leave her feeling that way with the weekend approaching.

She was as good as gold in the car, but if you look at the right side of her face, you can see the swelling.

Get well soon, sweetie; let’s hope the medication acts immediately, as we don’t like seeing you unwell. 😥🩷🥰
