Routine Cleaning and Enrichment at our Breeder Facility At our breeder facility, cleanliness is our top priority, and we maintain a weekly cleaning schedule. We understand that as responsible breeders, it is crucial to avoid using substrates that may accumulate urate or feces. To address this concern, we utilize reprizorb (not the most exciting substrate, but certainly necessary) to ensure a hygienic environment for our snakes. However, it’s not just cleanliness that we focus on – providing a stimulating and enriching habitat for our snakes is equally important to us. That’s why we make it a point to pack their tanks with plenty of foliage and entertainment. We believe in giving them new experiences regularly, which is why we take out everything from their tanks on a weekly basis. To maintain this high standard of cleanliness, we follow a specific process. First, we soak all toys and foliage in a bleach-Dawn bath within our industrial sink for two hours. This effective cleansing method is crucial for ensuring the well-being of our snakes. After the soaking process, we power rinse and scrub all items to eliminate any potential contaminants. This meticulous cleaning regimen is essential for keeping our facility happy and healthy, especially considering the number of snakes we care for – over 200 in total. By upholding these cleaning practices, we strive to contribute positively to the welfare of the snakes and the overall industry. As dedicated breeders and pet owners, we urge everyone to prioritize the well-being of their snakes and their offspring. Consistently practicing good hygiene and providing a rich environment for snakes are vital steps in our collective effort to promote the welfare and future of this industry.
